Very good and supportive faculty members, moderate level placements, and a good environment.
Placements: The SNU design department offers us different opportunities for placements. In the 2025 pass-out batch, I personally know people who have been placed in Delhi, Bangalore, and Kolkata, too. It also provides us with internships in our final year.
Infrastructure: We have one classroom for 1st year students, and from 2nd year we have specialisation-based classrooms. 24/7 Wi-Fi and a computer are provided. The food in the canteen is average, but we are also provided with different food trucks.
Faculty: Faculty members are really supportive of your creativity. They help us with every problem that we face. SNU's design department follows the government college curriculum like NID and NIFT. Semester exams are moderate, the marks are dependent on your assignments and projects that are given by the college. Assignments are very creative and fun to do. Overall, you will enjoy studying design at this college. 90% is the pass percentage.
Other: I was very passionate about design and the creative field, which is why I chose to design. I chose SNU because it's very affordable for me, I stay in Kolkata, and if I were to go to another college outside my state, like MIT Pune or Simbiosis, those are very expensive, but the overall studies are the same. Also, SNU provides us with a scholarship according to our class 12 marks, which also helped me. There are different clubs in SNU, like photography, drama, singing, etc., where you can join. SNU also has extracurricular activities like football, cricket, throwball, etc.

It has great campus life, modern facilities, and good placement support.
Placements: Placement rate, 95% to 97% students are placed. Highest package is 51 LPA, average is 6.5 LPA (median- 5 LPA). Top recruiters are TCS, Microsoft, Amazon, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Cisco, IBM, Deloitte, EY, and Goldman Sachs. Internships 65-80% B.Sc. Statistics, with companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, and Microsoft. Top roles are software/web developer, data analyst, and app developer.
Infrastructure: Sister Nivedita University boasts a modern Wi-Fi-enabled smart classroom, fully equipped labs, and a digital library accessible 24/7. Hostels are gender segregated, hygienic, and secure, with furnished rooms. Mess/canteen serves healthy, affordable meals. Medical care is robust, with doctors and emergency staff on campus. A well-maintained sports complex offers cricket, basketball, a gym, and indoor games, ensuring a well-rounded campus experience.
Faculty: Teachers at Sister Nivedita University are highly qualified, approachable, and supportive, often using modern teaching methods like smart boards and industry projects. Curriculum is industry-oriented, designed with input from experts to make students job-ready. Semester exams are moderately difficult but fair, focusing on both theory and practical knowledge, with a high pass percentage of around 90-95%, provided students attend classes and prepare consistently.
Other: I chose this course because of its strong industry relevance and career opportunities. The best part is the practical learning, supportive faculty, and modern curriculum. I wish there were more focus on advanced research exposure. The campus crowd is diverse and friendly, with vibrant fests, cultural events, and active clubs. Good connectivity, scholarships for merit and need, and extracurricular activities like sports and dramatics make the campus experience lively and engaging.

Average college and college life.
Placements: Placements at Sister Nivedita University (SNU) have been growing steadily, with a range of companies visiting the campus, especially for teaching and management roles. Students in fields like Computer Science and Engineering often have better placement opportunities, with offers from reputed IT companies and startups. However, the average salary packages are moderate, and while some students secure higher-paying roles, others feel that the university placement support could be enhanced to attract more top-tier companies and diversify the job roles offered. The placement cell is supportive but could work more on improving industry connections and preparing students for competitive interview processes.
Infrastructure: SNU offers a wide array of courses, especially in engineering, management, and the sciences. The curriculum is updated regularly to include current trends, particularly in technology-related fields. However, students sometimes feel that the courses could be more practical and industry-oriented, as they currently emphasize theory over hands-on learning. Faculty members are knowledgeable, but students would benefit from more workshops, labs, and real-world project opportunities. Overall, while the university’s academic offerings are solid, some improvements could be made to enhance the student experience.
Faculty: I liked the faculty at Sister Nivedita University. They were well-qualified and approachable, and willing to help students with doubts and extra guidance. However, some students feel that teaching methods could be more engaging and aligned with industry practices. The curriculum is fairly up-to-date, particularly for technical and professional courses, incorporating relevant topics and skills. However, more focus on practical, real-world applications and hands-on projects could enhance the learning experience. The exam structure is straightforward, with a focus on theory. While exams are fair, students sometimes feel they assess wrote learning over practical understanding. Adding project-based or open-ended assessment could improve skill development and practical knowledge.
Other: I like the food at the fest at Sister Nivedita University. It provides a decent selection of dishes, offering a mix of Indian and continental options. The food is generally fresh and hygienic, catering to different tastes. However, students feel that more variety would improve the experience. Special occasions bring a wider range of options, which is appreciated, but daily meals could be more diverse to avoid repetition. Overall, while the fest is satisfactory, with good quality and cleanliness, adding more frequent menu changes and options for customization would make it more enjoyable for students.

The best college in Kolkata.
Placements: Around 80% of students get placed in this college. The highest package is 25 LPA for B.Tech CSE, the lowest is 2.5 LPA, and the average is 5 LPA. TCS, Capgemini, IBM, Wipro, Persistent, Bosch, and Tech Mahindra are the top recruiters. 50% of students get placed. Companies, including Wipro and IBM, have roles in Software Engineering and AI/ML Engineering.
Infrastructure: I think my college has great infrastructure. We have very nice labs, and there are many computers. We have free internet service, and the classrooms are good with AC. We don't have a hostel, but the canteens are good.
Faculty: Our teachers are well-educated and very friendly. They clear all our doubts and take exams every week. I am from the CSE branch, so the curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready. The exams are difficult, but around 80% of students pass. Our faculty members are friendly and well-educated.
Other: I am passionate about this course to get a job easily. I think the syllabus should be changed. There are no events, but you do get a scholarship for good marks.

It has impressive infrastructure and campus life, the best academic support, and placement services.
Placements: Last year, around 92% of students got placements through the campus. Companies like Amazon, Flipkart, TCS, Wipro, etc., hire students from my college. Roles like data entry operator, software and web developer, etc., are offered. The highest package offered is around 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: My college has a library, canteen, food trucks, air-conditioned computer labs, and a moot court room for law practice. Our college canteen provides the best quality food at affordable prices. It has full books in the library. It also has a badminton court, basketball court, etc.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are helpful and approachable, though teaching quality can vary between departments. Some professors are well-qualified and experienced, while others lack practical industry exposure. The course curriculum is moderately updated and includes relevant topics, but it doesn't fully prepare students for industry challenges without additional self-learning or internships. Semester exams are generally of moderate difficulty. It has a high pass percentage, and it is around 85-90%, making it manageable for most students.

It is a good college for average students with poor placements.
Placements: Students who get 9 CGPA or above are given chance for placements. The highest salary package offered is 50 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 2.4 LPA. The average salary package offered varies from 3 LPA - 4 LPA. TCS, Wipro, and Cognizant are top recruiting companies. Internships are not given by this college. But college inform us about internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: We have labs with air conditioning. It has big seminar hall. We have a library and every book is available that we need for our course. Cafe is available with air-conditioned. Hostel is basic and food quality is okay. There are no medical facilities. Sports or games are also not available.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. But their teaching quality needs to be improved. Course curriculum is bit outdated but similar to what other colleges provide. Although it does not make students industry ready and they can opt for masters. Semester exams are fairly easy. Pass percentage is 98%.
Other: I want to be a software engineer. It is fun and easy for me. Placements and teaching quality need improvement. I don't like their basic type of teaching. Very few events are held in this college and they are not huge events.
