Why MBA from IITs?

MBA aspirants may ask, “why pursue an MBA degree from an engineering institute?” There are many reasons why one should considered pursuing MBA from IITs; some of them are listed below:

  • CAT percentile required for admission to IITs is much lower than that required for IIMs and other top MBA colleges in India. For example, IIT Delhi MBA cut off is 98 percentile while IIT Bombay MBA cut off is 97 percentile, much below than that of IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow, Indore and others.
  • All the seven IITs offering MBA are ranked among to 50 MBA institutes in India (2021) by NIRF-MHRD - IIT Delhi (Rank 5), IIT Kharagpur (Rank 9), IIT Bombay (Rank 10), IIT Madras (Rank 13), IIT Roorkee (Rank 14), IIT Kanpur (Rank 16) and IIT-ISM Dhanbad (Rank 30).
  • The IITs offer niche and upcoming MBA specialisations such as Business Analytics (IIT-IMS Dhanbad) and MBA Telecom (IIT Delhi).
  • Average fees of MBA courses at IITs is under INR 10 lakh.
  • Average salary offered to students graduating from these institutes is INR 13 lakh. Since, there isn't much gap between the fees and average salary offered in campus placements, the return of investment or the ROI of the MBA degree is good.
