- These scholarships are offered to the Indian and non-Indian students who have secured the highest rank in the respective merit list of the SAU Entrance Test among the remaining students after awarding the SAU President scholarship and SAARC-India Silver Jubilee Scholarship.
- These are given to those who secure the highest rank at the end of the first semester examination among the remaining students after awarding the SAU President.
- From the second year onwards, SAU Merit Scholarships are given to those students who secure the highest rank till the end of the previous year in the respective category scholarship and SJS in the respective category of the programme.

SAU conducts its own entrance exam for admission to all the courses.
