TANUVAS Highlights 2025
Established in the year 1989, the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University is the first Veterinary University of India. Established under the Tamil State Government Act 42 of 1989 TANVUS is located in Erukkancheri, Chennai where it has a BSL-3 certified laboratory.
The university also has 9 constituent colleges, 12 research stations, 15 research laboratories, 20 Veterinary University Training and Research Centers, 4 Krishi Vigyan Kendras and 3 Farmers Training Centers.
TANVUS is ranked 17 under the Agriculture and Allied Sectors category as per the NIRF 2024 rankings. Furthermore, the University is accredited by NABL and ICAR and is known to offer AICTE-approved courses through its constituent college. Veterinary University in Chennai has filed 47 patents, of which 20 have been granted and has obtained 1 copyright.

For B.V.Sc. & AH students, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) offers a number of scholarships. There are 120 spots available for the Tamil Nadu Veterinary & Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) in Chennai's Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & AH) programme. Candidates must have passed the 10+2 exam in the academic stream with a focus on Biology, Botany, and Zoology, as well as Physics and Chemistry, in order to be considered for admission to this programme. TANUVAS Popular Programmes 2025
TANUVAS offers courses such as BTech, BVSC and MVSC, as popular among the candidates. The University offers these courses with durations varying from 2 years to 5.5 years. TANUVAS courses are offered in specialisations such as Food Technology, Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Biochemistry, Dairy Technology and many more.
TANUVAS admission are only open to only native Tamil candidates who have cleared their Class 12 board exams with a minimum aggregate between 45% - 70% for the UG admissions. For PG admissions, candidates are required to clear any undergraduate program with a minimum duration of three years and with a minimum aggregate of 45%-70%
In addition to this, PG-level courses require a graduation qualification with a minimum aggregate of 50% along with valid entrance scores. TANUVAS Admission Process and Important Dates 2025
TANUVAS course admissions are decided on both merit and entrance basis. The university accepts the exam score of the CEETA, TNEA or any other equivalent entrance exam during admissions. Candidates are advised to check whether they can comply with the TANUVAS course eligibility criteria before admissions begin.
Candidates must visit the official website of TANUVAS to complete the process for the TANUVAS admissions. a Here, candidates will be able to fill the application form for admissions into their chosen course. Once the applications have been filled, candidates will be selected on the basis of the eligibility criteria andthe scores obtained in the relevant entrance exam or the last qualifying exam.
In PG admission process, candidates will be called for a personal interview round before seat allotment. Once the seats have been alloted, candidates are required to pay the TANUVAS admission fees to confirm their admissions.

TANUVAS has not released the official placement report for 2023 and 2024. However, as per the TANUVAS NIRF report 2024, the median package offered during UG 4-year placements was INR 3.33 LPA. TANUVAS applications for PG (Biotechnology) admissions 2025 is currently closed. As per some sources, I have checked that the application period started on May 18 and the last date for submission was June 30. If you have achieved 193+ marks in the conducted exam then you can get admission in TANUVAS confirmly. Every year cutoff is based on three subjects thoses are physics, chemistry and biology based these three subjects cutoffs are calculated.
