University of Madras, Marina Campus (UNOM Marina) was established in 1871 as part of the six campuses of University of Madras (formerly known as Madras University). The University is autonomous and is recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC). UNOM Marina Campus offers one course each at UG and PG level.

UNOM (Marina Campus) Admission Process 2021

UNOM Marina Campus offers admission to BCA at UG and MA (Tamil) at PG level. The University offers both the programmes under Department of Information Technology and Department of Tamil and other Dravidian Language. UNOM Marina applications for admission to UG and PG programmes are invited both in online and offline mode.

University of Madras BCA admission is entrance-based. The course duration of the programme is three years.

Selection criteria: Final admission is based on scores obtained in the entrance exam conducted by UNOM.

It is a good and friendly learning place.

Placements: About 70% of the students from our course were placed. The salary offered is Rs. 15,000 to 25,000 per month for freshers based on their talent and companies in which they join. Top recruiters for our course are Infotech, Infosys and many more companies. Top roles offered in our course are programmer, algorithm developer, etc. In our course, the salary offered is nearly Rs. 30,000 to 1,00,000 per month. About 70% of the students got internships in the software company.

Infrastructure: Our college provides computers, air-conditioners, Wi-Fi facility and all books which are related to that course. In our college, the hostel is not huge, so many students can't accommodate in the hostel. However, there is a good mess with hygienic food, and there are all primary medical facilities for first-aid. Our college has sports facilities like cricket, football, kabaddi, and there is a criminology course, etc., in our college.

Faculty: Teachers here are well qualified to teach us clearly and help us when we ask many times. Their teaching quality is also excellent and clear. This course is relevant to the curriculum, and it makes us ready for the job because we learn practically but not theoretical things.

Other: I have chosen this course because I like computer programming. We can develop the future of our generation because the future depends on computers. I want to provide a better security system of the websites. Our college organises a computer-based fest.

Placements: Around 25 companies visit our college to recruit students. A few students got placed in our college. They offer low salary packages. Small companies visit our college to recruit students. They conduct classes for placements. Our staff members are good.

Infrastructure: Our college is well-maintained. Our college provides fewer facilities. Our college has 2 blocks. A huge playground is available in our college. The canteen is small. Classrooms are average. The mess facility is available in our college.

Faculty: Our teachers are good, friendly, and well-qualified. They provide good notes. They help us during exams. They conduct special classes. They take care of students. They provide good marks and good education.

Other: Many sports activities are held in our college.

The college was not bad, but increase the facility of college.

Placements: 70% of students were placed in this course. The highest salary was INR 15,000 and the lowest salary was INR 8000. The top role is marketing in our college. That was an INR 15,000 package. 30% to 35% of students got an internship from this course in various companies.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in our college labs, classrooms, Library, bike parking, canteen, auditorium, restroom, playground, and counseling room. The normal quality of the facilities is provided in our hostel, the quality of the food is okay to eat, and the canteen was not bad. There was a low quality of medical facilities and good facilities in sports and games.

Faculty: Yes, the teachers are very helpful qualified, and knowledgeable. There was a good quality of teaching. They didn't make the student Industry ready. They only teach lessons in-class hours, otherwise, they didn't take extra classes.
