University of Madras, Taramani Campus (UNOM Taramani Camous) was established in 1871 as part of the six campuses of University of Madras (formerly known as Madras University). The University is autonomous and is recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC). Applications for admission in UNOM Taramani are invited both in online and offline mode.

UNOM Taramani Campus offers admission to MSc in Photonics and Biophotonics specialisation under Department of National Centre for Ultrafast Process. The course duration of the programme is two years. UNOM Taramani admission is merit-based.

M.Sc. in Biomedical Genetics - Batch of 2023

Overall, the best university for M.Sc. in Biomedical Genetics Course.

Placements: A good percentage of students were placed in our study. About 70% students got placed. The highest package is 19 LPA and the lowest is 4 LPA. The top hiring companies are Zifo, Eli Lilly, LabCorp, Biocon, Medgenome, etc. The percentage of students selected for internship is 85%. Genetic Counselor, Bioinformatics Scientist and high-quality roles are provided.

Infrastructure: Advanced labs and first-rate classrooms and a guesthouse were provided. The hostel's food was excellent, and as day scholars, we were able to purchase a coupon and eat there. I used to attend on Thursdays because of the unique meals. We have large fields for football and cricket.

Faculty: Our college professors were knowledgeable. At the time of the study, the curriculum was somewhat outdated. Then I heard it's been updated, but still, more emerging technology and hands-on experience help students survive later. The quality of teaching and testing was great. Semester exams are easy and the pass rate is 72% .
