What's new at Madras Institute of Technology?

  • DOTE Tamil Nadu has released TNEA Supplementary Round Provisional Seat Allotment results and the eligible candidates can check the same and download the allotment order on the official site. Further, SCA to SC conversion provisional allotment order has been released for all eligible candidates, request to login and download the allotment order here.
  • GATE 2023 exam will be conducted on Feb 4 and Feb 5 then again on Feb 11 and Feb 12.

MIT Chennai is a private institute affiliated with Anna University. The college offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral-level programmes such as BTech, MSc, MTech and PhD across various specialisations. Madras Institute of Technology Admission Process 2022

MIT Chennai accepts admission through various national-level entrance exams for all its courses. The admission process includes qualifying exam, application process and counselling process. Check below the MIT Chennai admission process:

Step 1: Madras Institute of Technology Application Process 2022

For taking admission to the courses offered at MIT Chennai, candidates need to visit the official website of respective national-level entrance exams conducting bodies and fill the application form in online mode.

  • For the BTech/ BE programme, the candidates are required to visit the official website of Anna University and register for TNEA Counselling.
  • For the MTech/ ME programme, the candidates are required to register on the official website of COAPS. For the rest of the courses, candidates need to register themselves on the official website of MIT Chennai. 

Step 2: Selection Rounds

Candidates are shortlisted for based on the qualifying scores in the respective exams. The final selection is based on the counselling process. Selected students are alloted seats based on the respective counselling for the courses.

Step 3: Document Submission & Fee payment

The college is good on a merit basis, but not suitable for NRI quota students.

Placements: The placements are average in our department. Some of the top recruiting companies are Caterpillar, Hyundai, etc visit our college for recruitment and internships also offer which is good. But placement is average.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average in this college. Library and classrooms are average. It has Wi-Fi and laboratories for students, but it is not good. The quality of the food has to be improved, but not the worst food ever.

The curriculum needs to be changed, and the placement rate is declining,

Placements: Over 80% of students got placed. Although it is important to note that better grades always doesn't mean higher opportunities for placements. Packages varied from 4.2 LPA to 7.2 LPA. On average, 4.8 LPA is the package offered. Most of the core companies for aeronautical engineering are of mechanical and computer fields, as there are very few companies that recruit aeronautical engineers. MIT is a good college in terms of infrastructure, education and placements.

Placements: Out of 60 students in my batch, 43 students got placed in this course. The highest package offered is 12 to 20 LPA, and the lowest package is 4 to 5 LPA. Caterpillar is the topmost recruiting company in our course.

Infrastructure: Madras Institute of Technology has a well-equipped library and good hostel facilities. Food provided in the hostel is worth every penny. A health care center is available in our college, and it provides medical assistance for students. Sports and club activities are good.

All facilities in our college are great.

Placements: Students can get placements, and nearly 200 students got recruited. The average salary package offered is 4.5 LPA, and the highest salary package offered is nearly 10 LPA. Many high-profile companies like Google, Microsoft, Tata and many others recruit students here.

Madras Institute of Technology is one of the best colleges for placements.

Placements: More than 90% of students got placed in my course. The highest package offered is 75 LPA, the average package is 55 LPA, and the lowest package is 10 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Defense Research and Development Organisation, ISRO, NASA etc.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi connectivity is provided 24*7 in MIT. Electricity and water supplies are available in all hostels 24*7. Food quality is very good in the hostels and canteens. Medical facilities are available. Apart from studies, ...

The B.Tech admission process of MIT is done through TNEA counselling conducted by Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu. TNEA counselling is based on 12th marks, so JEE Main marks are not needed here. You can participate in TNEA counselling on the basis of class 12th marks.
