West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences Admission Process 2025
Established in 1995 to impart education, training and research in the field of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Dairy Sciences and Fishery Sciences, especially in the rural areas of West Bengal. The University has three faculties and 31 departments that collectively offer eight UGC-approved courses at UG, PG and doctoral level.
WBUAFS Admission 2025: Highlights
WBUAFS admissions are conducted in online mode through its official website. Admission to some of the programmes offered at the University is entrance-based while for remaining courses, admission is based on merit of previous qualifying degree/ exam. Given below are the entrance exams accepted by WBUAFS:
UG courses:
- Admission to BVSc & AH programme is based on NEET UG score obtained by eligible candidates
- Candidates willing to seek BTech admission are evaluated based on West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) score, followed by a university-level Personal Interview (PI) round
- WBUAFS BFSc admission is based on performance of a candidate in previous qualifying degree/ exam
PG courses:
- For granting admission to PG programmes, including MVSc, MFSc and MTech, the University conducts an admission test followed by a PI round
PhD course:
- Admission of candidates to WBUAFS PhD programme is based on aggregate obtained by eligible candidates in their relevant previous master's degree

The seat intake for the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programme at the West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences (WBUAFS) is 44 seats. The reservations of seats for this programme are as follows:
- SC-22%, ST-6%, OBC-A-10%, OBC-B-7%, ICAR Nominee-15%, Person with Disability (PwD)-5%*
- GTA- 01* seat in each course.
- GTA & PwD seat @ 5% (i.e., 02) will be on a horizontal basis.

The eligibility criteria for M.Tech at West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences requires the candidate to have a minimum of 6.2 Overall Grade Point Average (O.G.P.A.) for general category & 6.0 for SC, ST, OBC-A & OBC-B, PwD categories in 10 point scale in their B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.Tech.
