Important Dates for ICAI Placements
The Committee of the Members in Industry and Business of the ICAI has announced that its placements will occur in the months of September and October for the year 2019. The campus placement program of the ICAI is held twice yearly and stands as a platform for the newly qualified CAs to find prospective jobs with the leading recruiters in the industry.
The placement programme will be conducted in the month of September for placements in the cities of Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Hyderabad. The placement programme for the cities of Bhubaneshwar, Ernakulam, Coimbatore, Chandigarh, Indore, and Kanpur will happen in the month of October 2019.

In the February-March 2019 placements, the participating companies offered jobs for about 3,815 students of which 3180 candidates accepted the offer. The highest CTC that was offered at the domestic placements was Rs. 22.50 LPA and for international job offers, the highest salary proposed was Rs. 36 LPA. The average placement salary was Rs. 7.4 LPA
Placements Trends at ICAI over the past three years
ICAI has over three lakh members and this profession has touched new heights since its inception before 69 years. The institute facilitates its newly certified members with effective placement options and helps them to explore new avenues twice a year. Though the Chartered Accountants struggle a lot in clearing the different levels of the examination and the practical training, they need not struggle at all in finding jobs. Placement Trends and Salary Structure
From the placement trends of CAs in the past three years, we can say that there were about 29 new companies that participated in the placement drive from a total of 139 companies that participated. It can also be seen that there is a huge demand in the banking sector for the Chartered Accountants in the 2019 placements.
About 730 candidates were offered a salary range of Rs 19 LPA and above per annum. A good majority of the participants, about 1748 of them were offered a CTC of Rs 17.5-19 LPA. About 558 candidates were offered a compensation of Rs 16-17.5 LPA. A number of candidates were placed in international organisations as well.
The President of ICAI said that the placement drive has attracted a huge volume of recruiters from all over the country and abroad and the 2019 placements witnessed the highest participation of organizations since the inception of the ICAI institute. This positive trend only shows the trust of these organisations on the training and evaluation of the ICAI of their newly qualified Chartered Accountants. Yes, candidates will get up to 15 minutes of late entry to CA Foundation Paper 1, 2, 3, and 4. However, students are advised to reach the exam centre early to avoid getting late.
