Alumni Meet 2019 - GD Goenka University

To walk down the memory lane and relive those golden university days, the Alumni Relations Center (ARC) of GD Goenka University organised its 2^nd Alumni Meet on 11 May 2019. The objective of the event was to engage with the alumni and reconnect them with their friends, seniors, juniors, mentors and faculty members. The event was inaugurated with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Suku Bhaskaran, President and Prof (Dr.) S. ShanthaKumar, Pro Vice-Chancellor, GD Goenka University. Prof. Bhaskaran in his address applauded the achievements of the alumni in different spheres of life and shared that it was a matter of great pride for GDGU that its alumni had turned up on campus in great numbers to be with their Alma Mater. Prof. Shanthakumar in his address emphasized the need for further strengthening the linkage between the alumni, University and the current batch of students.

The inaugural session was followed by experience sharing by the alumni who praised the faculty and the University for providing them a platform to imbibe the best of the education. This was followed by the launch of a special university portal for its Alumni by President, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean, Student Welfare & International Relations, Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Kaushik. The detailed functioning of this portal was shared with them and they were apprised as to how this portal would provide them a vibrant environment for interaction amongst themselves. 

The evening was full of fun and entertainment with power-packed performances by famous RJ Rahul Makin, singer Shubham Bharti and stand-up comedian Garv Malik who enthralled the audience with their poetry, songs, experiences, anecdotes and jokes.

The meet was attended by Deans of all the Schools, Heads of various departments, faculty members and staff members of the University. The occasion was graced by a large number of alumni ranging across various batches from various parts of the country. There was great bonhomie everywhere among old students reliving their memories with their batch mates, seniors and juniors. In all, the ambiance was electric with people seen interacting and clicking pictures with each other. The meet ended with a promise to meet again and everyone bid an emotional farewell to each other.
