I am a highly motivated student with a strong interest in the Finance Industry. I possess a well-rounded academic foundation, having completed my 12th in MEC (Mathematics, Economics & Commerce) specialization and Under Graduation in Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com). Currently I’m pursuing PGDM program, to further enhance my academic knowledge.

Q1. How did you choose your course of study in school (class XI-XII)? What made you choose PGDM at GIBS?

My journey towards a career in finance commenced during high school, where my experience in MEC during 12th grade laid a robust foundation in core subjects such as mathematics and economics. While my appreciation for these subjects grew, it was their practical application that truly ignited my interest. Seeking fields that allowed me to apply this knowledge, finance emerged as a compelling option. Driven by this realization, I embarked on my current pursuit of a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program. However, my choice of program was guided by a desire for a comprehensive understanding of business operations coupled with financial expertise. This led me to select the program at GIBS Business School. GIBS stood out for its unique offerings, including the Innovation Research Entrepreneurship (IRE) program and the Certification in Personal Mastery Program (CPMP). These specialized programs offer invaluable insights into various aspects of business alongside the core financial curriculum. This holistic approach perfectly aligns with my goal of developing a well-rounded understanding of the financial landscape within the broader context of business. The combination of a robust PGDM program with specialized courses like IRE and CPMP instills confidence in me that I am on the right path to excel in the dynamic world of finance.

Q2. How you cracked admission at GIBS? What all entrance test(s) did you give? Any coaching classes that you took for preparation? Any other colleges that you were trying out for? What challenges did you face while opting for this college?

Choosing my college was an exhilarating journey, albeit accompanied by its share of challenges. With a clear aspiration to delve into finance, achieving a commendable score on the CAT exam became paramount for securing admission into a reputable program. Consequently, I enrolled in a rigorous 6-month coaching class to prepare diligently for this crucial examination. While my heart was set on GIBS Business School due to its distinctive IRE and CPMP programs, uncertainty loomed regarding my admission prospects. To hedge my bets, I applied to several other colleges as well. Balancing the demands of CAT preparation alongside my myriad commitments was undeniably arduous. It felt like juggling academics, personal life, and exam readiness all at once. Nonetheless, I devised a meticulous study schedule and diligently adhered to it, even amidst inevitable challenges.Ultimately, perseverance bore fruit, and I received the long-awaited acceptance letter from my dream B-School, GIBS. The prospect of immersing myself in the intricacies of finance and leveraging my knowledge to forge a successful career fills me with boundless excitement. With the unique programs offered by GIBS and my unwavering dedication, I am confident that I am poised to realize my aspirations and chart a fulfilling professional journey.

Q3. How you spend your time at college? Which classes do you like to attend? Which extra-curricular activities are you a part of in college? If given a chance, what else would you want to do? How has your college experience changed you as a person? What opportunities do you see in future?

College life encompasses a journey of learning, exploration, and personal growth. At my current institution, GIBS Business School, emphasis is placed on practical knowledge, with a significant 70% of the curriculum dedicated to hands-on learning and application. This approach renders every class engaging, as theoretical concepts are brought to life through immersive case studies and collaborative group projects. Being a member of the college's finance society has further enriched my experience. It provides a platform to connect with like-minded peers, engage in industry discussions, and attend enlightening guest lectures by seasoned professionals. This exposure to the real-world intricacies of finance deepens my understanding and enables me to apply classroom knowledge to practical scenarios effectively.

A standout feature of my college experience is the Business Mastery Program (BMP), a uniquely tailored initiative by our institution. This program transcends conventional academics, focusing on imparting practical business skills and nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset. Through workshops and interactive sessions with industry experts, we gain invaluable insights into diverse business functions such as marketing, operations, and human resources. The BMP has stretched my boundaries, fostering creativity and refining my problem-solving abilities. If given the chance, I would eagerly partake in an international exchange program. Immersing myself in a different cultural milieu and exploring business practices abroad would offer invaluable insights, broadening my horizons and fostering a global perspective. My college journey has undeniably transformed me as an individual. I have grown more independent, responsible, and resourceful. The diverse environment has honed my communication and interpersonal skills, instilling newfound confidence in presenting myself and my ideas.

Looking ahead, I am filled with excitement and anticipation. Armed with a robust academic foundation, practical experience through programs like BMP, and a strong network forged through the finance society, I am equipped to pursue a rewarding career in finance. With diligence, dedication, and the opportunities afforded by my college experience, I am confident in my ability to achieve my goals and leave a positive impact in the realm of business.

Q4. What do you plan in future?

My college experience has been amazing, and it's definitely set me on the right path for my future. My ultimate goal is to become a portfolio manager, where I can help individuals and organizations make smart investment decisions. I know it takes hard work and experience to reach that level, so I'm prepared to put in the time and effort to learn everything I can.
