Embracing Hospitality: Sudip's Journey from Rasikachak to Dubai

 

Hi, I'm Sudip Jana, a former student of JB Institute of Hospitality Management. My journey in hospitality began when I enrolled in the Diploma in Hotel Management program for the 2018-2019 session.

Q1: What motivated you to pursue a career in the hotel and hospitality industry, and where did you undertake your management course?

After completing my H.S. examination, I made the decision to pursue a hotel management course to pursue a career in the hospitality industry. Coming from a small village in Rasikachak, Purba Medinipur, where pursuing such courses seemed unattainable due to high fees and limited placement opportunities, I felt fortunate to discover the hotel management program at JBIHM, which made my dreams achievable.

Q2: How did your institute contribute to your aspirations in the hospitality field?

During my time at JBIHM, I received invaluable support and guidance from experienced faculty members who not only conducted theoretical classes but also supplemented them with real-life examples and hands-on training. With over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, our teachers imparted extensive knowledge. The institute's practical labs equipped us with modern industrial equipment, preparing us for real-world scenarios in 5-star hotels. Additionally, industrial visits and training sessions organized by the institute enhanced our confidence and skills. JBIHM also provided grooming sessions, communication training, interview preparation, and computer and French classes, ensuring we were well-rounded and industry-ready. The institute also facilitated my stay in Kolkata, easing logistical challenges.

Q3: Where are you currently employed, and how do you find fulfilment in your profession?

After completing my industrial training at Radisson Hotel Ballygunge, Kolkata, and on-the-job training at Golden Tulip, Kolkata, in the Food Production Department, I secured a position as an Associate Chef at the prestigious Public Hotel in Dubai. I feel immensely grateful for the opportunity to fulfil my dream and support my family both financially and emotionally. My journey from a small village in Medinipur to Dubai has been rewarding, and I credit JBIHM for laying the foundation for my success.
