From JIMS Kalkaji to BlackRock: My Journey to a Dream Career in Tech and Ops

My name is Drishika Aggarwal. I am currently pursuing a PGDM in IB from JIMS Kalkaji, and before this, I completed my B.Com from Mata Sundri College for Women, University of Delhi. I have been placed with BlackRock as a Tech and Ops professional with the package of INR 11 LPA.

I am thrilled to share the news that I have successfully secured a job at BlackRock in the Tech and Ops department. This journey has been filled with its fair share of challenges, but it has also been enriched by the unwavering support and motivation I received from the people who played crucial roles throughout my path. As I reflect on my journey, I am compelled to express my heartfelt gratitude to the faculty members of JIMS Kalkaji, who believed in me and guided me every step of the way. Their faith in my potential, coupled with their relentless encouragement, has been instrumental in helping me achieve my goal.

The journey to this achievement was not a solitary one. I must acknowledge the invaluable role played by the motivational sessions organized by the faculty. These sessions not only boosted my confidence but also imparted invaluable teachings that I carry with me to this day. The guidance and mentorship I received were invaluable, pushing me to work harder and strive for excellence.

I must also express my deep appreciation for the love and support I received from various quarters. This love served as a significant source of motivation, propelling me forward when times were tough. It reinforced my belief that I was on the right path, and I was not alone in my pursuit of success.

Undoubtedly, the past few months have posed considerable challenges, and there were moments when it seemed like the journey might become too arduous. However, the unwavering support of my mentors and peers kept me motivated and prevented me from losing hope. Their belief in my potential and their encouragement were the pillars on which I leaned during trying times.

It would be remiss not to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the placement committee, whose tireless efforts played a pivotal role in my success. From meticulously reviewing my resume to conducting mock interviews, group discussions, and preparatory sessions, the committee left no stone unturned in preparing me for the opportunity at BlackRock. Their dedication to my growth and development was unwavering, and I am profoundly grateful for their efforts.

The pivotal day, the day of the interviews, was filled with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. However, I was not alone in this endeavor. The committee members, along with the faculty and my friends, stood by my side throughout the process. Their unwavering support and encouragement provided me with the strength to face the interviews with confidence.

As the day progressed, the interviews unfolded, and I gave my best. In the evening, I received the life-changing news that I had been selected to join the BlackRock team. It was a moment of immense joy and accomplishment, and it had been a long time since I felt this level of achievement in my life.

I must emphasize that my accomplishment is not solely my own. It is the result of collective effort and dedication. I have worked tirelessly on myself, but I am acutely aware that the individuals and mentors mentioned above worked even harder to shape me into the person I am today. Their belief in me and their contributions to my growth have been invaluable.

In conclusion, I extend my profound gratitude to JIMS Kalkaji for making this achievement possible. This journey has been a testament to the power of dedication, mentorship, and unwavering support. My success at BlackRock represents not just a personal triumph but a collective achievement of mentors and support of the JIMS Kalkaji and guiding lighthearted and motivating factors.
