Hostel Facilities at UPES

UPES Dehradun Hostel Allotment:

On an annual basis, the rooms are assigned based on first-come, first-served. Students who want to reside in the hostel in the following year must submit new applications to UPES.

Fee:

• INR 1,80,000/- Regular Hostel for boys and girls at Bidholi and Kandoli Campus. However, for girls’ students they also offer a few additional triple sharing rooms with ad-on facilities only at the Kandholi campus as indicated below:

(I). A hostel room with an attached bathroom costs INR 1,90,000. (Only for girls)

(II). A hostel room with an attached bathroom and air conditioning costs INR 2,10,000. (Only for girls)

• The fee is refundable with no interest Security deposit for hostels. But in case of withdrawal, there will be no refund.

Refundable Security:

A refundable (interest-free) security amount of INR 20,000 is also payable at the time of registration.

Hostel Facilities at UPES

• All towers have 24-hour elevator facilities and electricity.
• Each room has a bed and mattress, a study table and chair, table lamps, books and utility shelves, a separate Almirah, wide windows, good fanning, and lighting.
• Rooms and bathrooms are cleaned almost daily.
• Each floor has CCTV cameras mounted at both exits.

UPES Dehradun Hostel Essentials

• Rooms, common rooms, mess rooms, and corridors are properly sanitised.
• Sanitizers are kept in strategic locations.
• Availability of hygienic laundry services
• E-check-in and e-attendance for students and staff
• Availability of separators between beds in each room
• A residential doctor and a medical assistant are available for emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 

Mess Facilities at UPES

Proper mess facilities are provided at UPES including all the three meals and evening snacks. The menu includes Veggie cutlet, milk, bread omelette, and sauce for breakfast and ROTI, DAL, Bindhi ki sabji, rice, jalebi etc. for lunch and dinner.

HOSTEL ACCESS CONTROL at UPES

• Hostel space will be limited for both guests and staff.
• No visitors will be allowed.
• Parents and family members have restricted visits and no contact meetings.
• Electronic check-in and attendance
• Submission of the self-declaration form online
• Aarogya Setu and tracking is compulsory.

HOSTEL MEDICAL PROTOCOL & ASSISTANCE

• Submission of the self-declaration form
• Reporting of COVID symptoms to the medical assistant, doctor, hostel warden, or hostel manager
• Preparation to self-isolate or quarantine on a doctor’s advice
• Mild or severe cases will be recommended for quarantine or hospitalization.
• 24/7 availability of a residential doctor and medical assistant
• In-house ambulance support with full COVID protocol
• Tele-medical specialist consultation on a chargeable basis
• UPES Care provides in-house psychologist consultations 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
• Compulsory health insurance

• Thermal screening of all students and hostel staff
• Daily visual health check-ups
• in/out sanitization process
• Luggage sanitization
• Use of a mask
• Regular updation of individual medical records

Getting around Dehradun, the round trip from campus to Dehradun:

For the convenience of students who are paying guests at city hostels, UPES has contracted with buses that leave the city in the morning and go to the campus in the afternoon. Every Saturday, UPES offers a bus to and from Dehradun City for residents of the campus housing that departs in the morning and returns in the evening.

Getting to Dehradun:

Rail, road, and air connections between Dehradun and the rest of the area and nation are excellent. So, choose the route that will get you to Dehradun the easiest. Cafes and eateries with a variety of cuisines boost the city's liveliness.
