Dr Atmanand Takes Additional Charge of MDI Gurgaon as Director
December 18, 2020: Dr Atmanand, Director of the Management Development Institute (MDI), Murshidabad, has been appointed as Director (Additional Charge) of MDI Gurgaon - Management Development Institute, with effect from December 16, 2020.
For more than 22 years, he has been associated with MDI Gurgaon, one of India's premier B-schools. He has served as Founder Dean of the MDI School of Energy Management, Dean of the Executive Post Graduate Programs and the School of Public Policy & Governance and Senior Professor of Economics at MDI Gurgaon.
Dr Atmanand also acts as Independent Director on the Board of the Central Bank of India, in addition to playing a crucial and decisive role at MDI. He has also served on the Board of Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) and PTC India Ltd. as the Independent Director. He has also held numerous roles, including the member of the Commission of State Finance, Government of Bihar and the Planning Commission of the Government of India.
Dr Atmanand is a fantastic leader, profound scholar, academician and journalist, and a recipient of the prestigious Rashtriya Gaurav Award, Indian Achievers Award, and Economic Growth Award. He has authored 16 books and published more than 90 academic papers in national and international publications. He specialises in Public Enterprise Management, Energy and Environment Management, Power, Infrastructure Capital Programs, Oil and Gas, Steel, Project Finance, Economic and Business Environment, Public Policy and Management.
MDI Gurgaon Professors Appear in World’s Top 2% Scientists
December 1, 2020: A research study entitled ‘A standardised citation metrics author database annotated for scientific field’ was recently released by one of the renowned authors of prestigious Stanford University that featured 1,59,683 scholars worldwide as the top two per cent of scientists across the globe. Out of the total, 1,500 scholars/ scientists belonged to India among which two are from one of the leading B-Schools across the country, MDI Gurgaon - Management Development Institute.
The scholars are ranked across all scientific fields based on their ranking of a composite indicator that considers six citation metrics namely total citations; Hirsch h-index; co-authorship-adjusted Schreiber hm-index; number of citations to papers as a single author; number of citations to papers as single or first author; and number of citations to papers as single, first, or last author.
Professor Rajesh Kumar Singh, Professor in Operations Management has ranked first among five Indian researchers in the Business and Management category. His global rank in the list is 252. Professor Sajal Ghosh, Associate Professor in Economics made it to the list of the world’s top two per cent scientists from the Energy category while his global ranking is 1790.
