MDI Gurgaon Eligibility Criteria

The candidates should fulfil the following eligibility criteria for MDI Gurgaon MBA admissions:

  • The candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA in Class 10 and Class 12
  • The candidate must have completed a bachelor’s degree (minimum three years) with at least 50% aggregate or equivalent from a recognised university.
  • The candidates in the final year of graduation will also be eligible to apply for MBA admissions at MDI Gurgaon.

MDI Gurgaon offers a variety of management programmes, such as the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), PGDM Human Resource Management (HRM), PGDM International Business (IB), and PGDM-Business Analytics. Q:   Can I get direct admission in MDI Gurgaon?
A:

Yes, Management Development Institute also offers direct admission through the management quota. Candidates seeking admission must visit the official website of the University to register themselves. Candidates have to make an online payment irrespective of the number of programmes they apply for. 

Step 1: Appear for CAT exam

The first step towards MDI Gurgaon is appearing for the CAT exam. The B-school uses the CAT percentile to shortlist the candidates for the further selection process. The CAT cutoff for each programme may vary and the candidate must meet the CAT cutoff to proceed. The CAT cutoffs are announced after the CAT results are released.

Step 2: Apply for MDI Gurgaon

Students need to apply separately for MDI Gurgaon online. The PGDM application window at MDI Gurgaon was opened for working professionals, and the last date to apply was June 30, 2025. The round 1 process dates were  April 4, 2025, to May 31, 2025. The round 2 of the MDI Gurgaon selection process was held from June 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025. The application fee is INR 1000.

Step 3: Group Discussion and Personal Interview

Each student who matches the CAT cutoff should appear for the GD/WAT/PI round at the institute. The students are judged on their performance in these rounds. They will be judged on their communication skills, knowledge, critical and analytical thinking. These rounds together contribute to 30% of the selection criteria.

Q:   What is the CAT exam cutoff required to get admission to IIM Bangalore?
A:

The CAT cut offs for IIM Bangalore hovers between 97-100 percentile. The qualifying CAT cut off required for being eligible for IIM Bangalore's Written Ability test (What) and Personal Interview PI is 85 percentile for General category students, whereas for SC candidates, it is 70 percentile. A:
Experts recommend that aspirants must practice at least 40 CAT mock tests to score above 99 percentile well in the exam. Most of the CAT test takers take up to 50 mock tests of various types and difficulty level. CAT toppers in previous years have practiced even up to 80 mock tests during their preparation. However, candidates must decide the number of CAT mock tests depending on their control and confidence on topics as the exam day comes closer.
