NCU School of Law has a cachet in bridging student’s aspiration and transform them into reality, says Mohit Vats
“The main business of a lawyer is to take the romance, the mystery, the irony, the ambiguity out of everything [s]he touches”
-Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia
The NorthCap University School of Law (NCU-SOL) is ranked best amongst all the premiere law schools in Delhi NCR. As a potential law student, I reckoned to join NCU School of Law with a raw and witting mindset having frequently dropped lines like ‘legislation’, ‘policy’, ‘constitution’, ‘democracy’. After, I completed my Law degree from this prestigious institution; I had fully immersed myself in diligently worshipping the term ‘Law’.
NCU Law School is the trove of bright students, experienced faculties, learning atmosphere, equipped library, and top-class infrastructure. There are committees for Recruitment, Moot Court, Academics, Cultural, Sports, and Legal Aid Clinic, Rotract Club, etc. Additionally, there is a muster society for debate, quiz (topics such as a Constitution, Corporate, IPR, etc), and research, journals on all major law subjects. The role of such committees has created an open culture for the students. Such committees has boosted the method of specific guidance by peer-peer and peer-faculties. Evidently, students have been able to grab easy victories at various moot courts, debates, quizzes, and research work published in prestigious law journals.
There are many emphatic reasons to join NCU School of Law, firstly the location and proximity to various legal institutions such as Supreme Court, Delhi High Court, Tribunals, and Centre and State Commissions provide the added benefit of having the firsthand experience to access such establishments. Secondly, student-friendly and legal industry-ready curricula provide flexibility between academics and extra-curricular activities. Thirdly, specialised dedicated committees to hone the skills of the students. Fourthly, pragmatic learning process through peer-peer learning methods, clinical opportunities, internships, externship, and clerkship. Lastly, the introduction of a comprehensive matrix of contemporary laws taught by specialised faculty. By combining all these such as cutting-edge research hub, the teaching programme, and direct exposure industry and alumni provided me with enriching, solution-oriented, constructive experience during my five-year law school journey. NCU School of Law has a cachet in bridging the student’s aspiration and transform them into reality.
In a very short span, NCU has created strong alumni consisting of judges, independent lawyers, court clerks, associates at leading law firms, academicians, and legal researchers. The alumni at NCU have actively supported the dreams of law graduates. I myself have been a recipient of fruitful guidance and support from my alumni on various occasions. Importantly, NCU has signed many vital MOUs with National Law Schools to get access to various seminars, conferences, Library resources, and NGOs to provide internship opportunities to the students. Also, NCU provides for fee concession, scholarship, and awards to all meritorious students every year on the Merit-cum-Mean basis.
If I talk about my journey at NCU Law School, it was a very dynamic and promising experience. I was the recipient of the NCU-Annual Scholarship for my overall meritorious performance during the five-year law course. During this time I have won various national moot court competitions, research paper writing competition, and national level law quiz competition. In order to achieve pragmatic insights, I interned at top-tier law firms, government institutes, PSUs, and NGOs such as Policy Research Think Tanks, Kanranjawala and Company, Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan, Chambers of Sr. Adv. KTS Tulsi, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Supreme Court AOR, Director of Public Prosecutor, Legal Aid Clinics, Corporate office, Legal Service Authority, and NGO. I was also part of many policy research projects and wrote various research papers in reputed law journals on contemporary legal issues.
At present, I am pursuing my post-graduation in corporate laws from University School of Law and Legal Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Dwarka. I was only able to crack CLAT-PG, 2019 which was completely based on my graduation law subjects due to my sense of clarity and grip on all complex topics taught by my faculties in NCU School of Law. I have further plans to join academics and incline myself towards legal policy researcher.
