The V.M Salgaocar Institute has a very majestic and imposing look, an incredibly styled institution. The cleanliness and hygiene maintained by the institute is beyond words. We are privileged to use state-os-art infrastructure and the latest equipment.

I passed out my Class 10 from The king’s School and pursued humanities as I found it to be a broad spectrum stream, something that would benefit both my personal and professional life as there were subjects of my interests.

The entire curriculum at The King’s School was very informative, challenging and fruitful under the guidance of very good teachers.

Then came the time for my big decision and since I was interested in Design and Decoration I wanted to pursue interior designing, but because of the unfortunate circumstances due to coronavirus I opted for plan B and walked into the line of Hospitality through the doors of V.M Salgaocar.

With the guidance of our respected Director Prof. Irfan Mirza CHE and Madam Edna Noronha I was convinced I have made the right decision.

The teaching faculty and administrative staff are very professional, innovative, creative and passionate and always never far to reach out. I must say every morning I look forward to wearing my haute couture, it gives me a feeling of pride being attached to an elegant institution

After the tour of the college, all my confusion was cleared and I knew I wanted my next milestone to start here, all doubts were being cleared one after another and my perspectives were falling into place. Now the only challenge was the entrance exam. English and GK were always my forte but Math used to send me off my heels.

After the encouragement I got from the faculty, I told myself I will give it my best shot. And YES, I got through. And I was happy that I did not have to struggle with coaching, this again rang a bell that probably this is what I enjoy doing and I am on the right path. I am proud to be part of this esteemed institution.

Time in college is pure pleasure. Through our lectures, we know more about the subject and its relevance to the hospitality industry. There is an interaction between teachers and students thus making it very fruitful. When it’s time to jump to practicals and get our hands messy, the room is filled with excitement and enthusiasm. During our practical classes, we have the privilege of working behind the counter and desk and it is here that our knowledge and efficiency is put to the test, so we all contribute and whip up the best eagerly look forward to the results.

In our leisure time we sit together and get to know more about each other, we discuss our day and plans for our future. There is so much warmth and togetherness in this leisure time and sometimes we are content with “JUST LAUGHS”. This fellowship is a very crucial part of a student’s life as it helps us to communicate with each other.

My ultimate goal is to excel in pastry and cake making by learning new and different techniques from all around the world. This new found love for my field keeps me looking forward with enthusiasm. Globally as things stand there will be inevitable changes. I don’t want to look far ahead
