Overview

NL Dalmia (NLDIMSR) offers three full-time MBA courses, namely PGDM, PGDM Finance and PGDM Business Analytics. Along with the Ph.D. program, one can also pursue a separate course on "Bloomberg Research Analyst". The curriculum of all the courses is recognised by the AICTE and is regularly updated in order to keep it in sync with the latest trends and demands of the dynamic corporate sector. The college, with its modern and robust infrastructure, offers a comprehensive and enriching learning environment with the help of its experienced faculty, several value-added courses, and rigorous training. These PGDM courses follow a trimester pattern every year.

a) PGDM: This is NLDIMSR's flagship course, in which students gain knowledge through a variety of methods such as classroom and guest lectures, live workshops and projects, corporate interactions, and so on. The pedagogy is more practical in nature, allowing students to implement academic learning in various case studies and real-life business challenges.

Eligibility: One needs to have a score of at least 50% in graduation as well as a valid score on one of these MBA entrance exams: CAT, CMAT, XAT, MHCET, ATMA, MAT, or GMAT.

Specializations: While the first year is common for all the students, they are free to choose one among the three specializations, i.e., Finance, Marketing, and HR.

Fees: The tuition fee for PGDM is approximately INR 6,60,000 per year.

Selection Criteria: NL Dalmia evaluates a candidate on the basis of the following parameters: MBA entrance exam score (40%), Personal Interview (20%), General Discussion (15%), Past Academic Record (15%), Work Experience (5%), and Extracurricular Activities (5%).

b). PGDM Finance: Similar to the PGDM course in terms of its tuition fees, eligibility criteria and admission process, this programme is exclusively designed for those who are solely interested in pursuing Finance as a career. Expectedly, the course structure places major emphasis only on finance-related subjects. Core subjects like Investment Banking, Corporate Valuation, Wealth Management, International Finance, etc. form the syllabus of this course.

c) PGDM Business Analytics: This course is designed for students who want to work in Data Science and Analytics while using data analytics to develop effective business solutions. The eligibility criteria, fees and admission process will remain similar to those of the other two PGDM courses. Special emphasis shall be laid on the capstone projects, internship learnings, and practical training on analytical tools under the supervision of experienced faculty. On successful completion of this course, one can expect to work in various lucrative job profiles such as data miner, business analyst, data scientist, etc. The course has been designed in such a way that one can not only grasp the key concepts well but also effectively implement academic learning across domains such as retail, insurance, start-ups, and consulting, among others.

ROI through these courses:

While it is speculated that one could earn INR 15,000 to 25,000 as the average stipend during the two-to-three-month period of summer internships, the job package could be in the range of INR 8,00,000 to 12,00,000 during the executive placements.

Conclusion

To sum it up, the PGDM courses offered at NL Dalmia are not only exhaustive in nature but also full of enriching experiences that will serve as a great launchpad for a student’s professional career. Regular amendments in the course syllabi, along with the efficient infrastructure to aid it, let the students have more than a fruitful time during their MBA journey.
