Dress Code at Thiagarajar School of Management
The Thiagarajar School of Management has a dress code for all days of the week. On the first Thursday of every month, both boys and girls must wear traditional clothes. It may be a saree for girls and a vest & shirt for boys. On the first three weekdays i.e., Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, students have to be dressed in formals. It includes blazers for both boys and girls, ironed shirts and pants including formal polished shoes and belts for boys, and neat formal cotton churidars with sandals for girls. On the next three days i.e., Thursday, Friday and Saturday casual attire is allowed for the students. It includes decent t-shirts and jeans with normal slippers or crocs or sneakers for boys and casual churidars, tops and jeans with casual shoes or footwear for girls.
Features of the attire
- Sleeveless shirts or tops are not allowed for both boys and girls.
- Sleeve length should be at least 3 inches for girls and five inches for boys.
- For both boys and girls, the formal dress includes mandatory blazers.
- Ironed shirts and slacks, as well as formal polished shoes and belts for males are allowed.
- Regular cotton churidars with footwear for girls are allowed.
- Casual attire comprises t-shirts and jeans with regular footwear, crocs, or sneakers for males.
- Casual churidars or t-shirts and denim with sandals for girls are permitted.
- Dresses of boys and girls must cover the whole body.
- Nightdress is allowed only inside the hostels.
Id Card is mandatory at TSM: All students receive their identification cards when the course begins, which is one week after they join the course. Student must wear their identity cards during class hours.
Prohibited Items in Dress Code: At the campus, students are allowed to wear decent clothes that cover the whole body. Revealing clothes are not permitted. Expensive jewellery is not allowed because of safety purposes. Piercing and studs in one ear for boys and tattoos are allowed. Piercing studs should not be bigger in size. It should be 5 to 7 millimetres only.
Exemptions on Special Occasions:
At Thiagarajar School of Management, various occasions and events are celebrated. The occasions such as New year, Diwali and Pongal and events such as YUKTI, Sports UTSAV, Sangamam for welcoming juniors, Sayonara for sending off the seniors and Levitate – the college cultural festivals are celebrated. The dress code for all events and occasions differs from that during normal class hours. It might be based on the colour patterns and theme of the events.
