University Interview Experiences in Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow

3 mins readUpdated on Aug 16, 2022 12:30 IST
The personal interview is the very last and final step in the hiring process. Some companies conduct multiple rounds of interviews. Students also receive assistance in PI preparation.

Freshers as well as students with work experience are given proper training for the interview process.

Jaipuria Institute of Management in Lucknow consistently outperforms the previous year's placement results. This covers the package provided, the variety in profiles, and receiving offers from various industries and domains. Freshers as well as students with work experience are given proper training for the interview process.

In general, an interview process consists of an aptitude test, a GD, and a final PI. Depending on the company's recruitment structure, there may be more than one interview. Before all of that, the company requests resume from the applicants. All students who meet the company's suggested eligibility requirements may apply and participate in the process. Though it is completely up to the student whether they want to apply for it or not.

A student is qualified to apply for two profiles that fall under his area of specialisation. The PGDM program requires all students to choose two specialities before entering the program's final year. The placement site for students displays every profile that fits into those two specialised sectors. For instance, if a student has chosen Marketing and Finance as two of his majors, he is only eligible to participate in recruitment related to either Marketing or Finance.

Interview Training at Jaipuria Institute of Management

Resume Building

Students are trained by the college starting with the resumé, which is the first step in an interview. Students are taught how to create an appealing CV in workshops that are designed for both new graduates and those with prior expertise in the field. The placement trainers thoroughly review each of those resumes and make any necessary modifications.

A student can also discuss his/ her CV with a professor and how to make it better. Teachers and mentors then advise the students on some relevant courses and live projects that they can complete along with their coursework. During the summer break, students can also pursue numerous internships, one of which is required and lasts between 8 and 12 weeks. The students have the option of participating in online internships within the regular course of their studies.

Aptitude Test

Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow conducts a test to determine the level at which the average student lies before doing the appropriate workshops as needed to improve writing aptitude. For the preparation of aptitude tests, mentors are frequently requested from well-known coaching centres so that students can learn from the best.

Group Discussion

With the students separated into groups, trainers lead mock group discussions. The subjects and news pieces that might be appropriate for group discussions are occasionally shared with the students. Additionally, the dos and don'ts of the GD are taught to the students. Students are guided on when making their point, what body language, tone, and approach should they use? Students are encouraged to defend their viewpoints and provide facts to back them. A good discussion group has six to eight participants and lasts for ten to twenty minutes.

The majority of the time, companies that organise placement drives for sales profiles include GDs. Because doing so reveals a person's persuasive, social, and analytical abilities.

Personal Interview

The personal interview is the very last and final step in the hiring process. Some companies conduct multiple rounds of interviews. Students also receive assistance in PI preparation. This contains the standard interview preparation that applies to all interview processes, regardless of the profile and the domain-specific questions.

The instructor offers templates to the students that include examples of questions that are appropriate for their profiles based on their resumes. To leave the interviewer with a better impression, students are advised to avoid giving clichéd answers.

Other help

A student can speak with any academic or staff member for advice or assistance besides all the training, workshops and learning sessions conducted.
