Important Preparation Tips for GSEB 12th Mathematics Exam

The key tips for students to plan the preparation process in an organised manner and score well in GSEB Class 12 Maths exam are as follows:

  1. Practice

The students preparing for board exams must begin their preparation with difficult chapters and gradually move on to the easier ones. Practise and solve different type of questions daily to ensure the same is solved in the minimum time possible. The students can also mark important sections in each chapter such as formulae and answers to ease their preparation.

  1. Solve doubts

The students should not hesitate to approach their teachers to clarify their doubts, if any. Always clarify all the doubts as and when they arise as this will help in saving time.

  1. Mugging up won’t help

Mathematics is the only subject in which one shouldn’t try to remember the solution/ answer. Therefore, the students must focus on practising and learning the concepts instead of remembering the answers. This will help in securing high scores in the exams.

  1. Learn the formulae

The students should write down all the formulae on a piece of paper and stick them on a wall or door. This will help in revising the formulae frequently and saving time during exam preparation.

  1. Utilise the time productively

In the board exams, some of the questions are designed for students to spend more time on them. The only way to recognise these questions is consistent practice. Hence, the student should utilise their time productively and practise all the questions consistently.

  1. Skip the difficult questions to save time

In case the students find a particular question difficult in the exam due to any reason, they should avoid wasting time on that question and instead, move on to the next question. This practise helps in saving time in the exam.

  1. Attempt question papers from the previous years

The question papers and patterns from the previous years’ exam are often repeated. Therefore, the students should solve GSEB 12th question papers from the past 10 years to ace the Maths examination. This will help to understand the pattern of the exam and identify the strong and weak areas in the subject.

  1. Check the marks distribution

Every student must go through the syllabus and previous years’ question papers to understand the weightage for each chapter. Ideally, the students should pay more attention to chapters with more weightage to secure a high score.

  1. Manage time during the exam

The students should learn to manage their time by practising previous years’ question papers or mock tests. Set the alarm clock for three hours and start the paper. After completing the same, self-evaluate each answer and understand the sections and type of questions that take more time. Analyse the repeated mistakes and enhance the speed and accuracy for the exam.

  1. Learn to isolate from disturbances

During the exam, the students often face several disturbances or distractions. Thus, they should learn to stay away from such elements. Also, avoid listening to music while practising problems as such devices are not allowed in the examination room. Instead, exercise, walk, meditate, and do yoga to stay fit and healthy. Also, get ample sleep and have proper nutrition during the preparation.
