About GSEB 10th

Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) conducts examinations for Class 10 every year in March. The examinations are conducted offline at the respective schools. Approximately, 10 lakh students appear for the GSEB SSC examinations every year. Students must follow the GSEB SSC syllabus and solve previous years' question papers to prepare well for the exams.

Students who will be appearing for GSEB SSC examinations must have passed Class 9 from the Gujarat Board of Secondary Education or any other recognised board of education. They will be required to fill the application form to appear for the exam. The GSEB SSC application forms must be filled and submitted by candidates’ respective schools in November.

The admit card for the Gujarat Board SSC exam will be accessible for the school authorities to download in February and the students will be able to collect the same from their respective schools thereafter. The GSEB SSC Result 2023 can be expected in May 2023. Students will be able to check their GSEB 10th Result 2023 using roll/seat number on the official website.

Last year, the Gujarat Board Class 10 exams 2022 were conducted from March 28 to April 9 and the result was released on June 6.

Established under “The Gujarat Secondary Education Act 1972”, the board’s major responsibilities (other than conducting board exams) include administering secondary and higher secondary schools, preparing syllabus, and recommending textbooks to be taught in schools in Gujarat. The board is also responsible for tasks such as recognition of new schools and performance evaluation as well as inspection of schools associated with it. GSEB is also the conducting body for GUJCET (Gujarat Common Entrance Test).   

As per the data available in an RTE (Right to Education), about 9,500 government and private schools are associated with GSEB.
