Victoria University India Welcomes Inaugural UG Cohort at NCR Campus; Marks India Academic Debut

First undergraduate cohort classes commence with programmes across business and data science; over 30 students receive the VU Block Model® Scholarship

Victoria University India has commenced academic operations at its Delhi NCR campus, welcoming the inaugural undergraduate cohort and marking a significant milestone for Victoria University. The postgraduate cohort will begin on September 28, 2026.

The commencement follows Victoria University India receiving approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC) to operationalise the campus in India. It paved the way to establish Victoria University’s academic presence in the country and bring the VU Block Model® to Indian students.

A defining feature of the academic experience, the VU Block Model®, sees students taught one subject at a time through intensive learning blocks. The approach enables students to engage more deeply with subjects, interact closely with faculty and apply learning through practical experiences.

The VU Block Model® has demonstrated strong student outcomes globally and has proven to be a particularly powerful educational approach for first-in-family and disadvantaged students, earning recognition as a breakthrough in inclusive education."

Over 30 deserving students from the inaugural UG cohort have received the Victoria University Block Model® Scholarship, with a tuition fee waiver of up to ₹3 lakh each year for UG and PG programs at the Delhi NCR campus. Students were selected for the scholarship in accordance with the University’s eligibility and selection criteria.

The University has completed all academic and non-academic hiring ahead of the commencement, with teams undergoing extensive training on the VU Block Model® and curriculum. Faculty and staff will support students throughout their academic journey, while clubs, societies and student engagement activities will provide opportunities for students to build connections and explore interests beyond the classroom.

The India campus also provides students with access to Victoria University’s Global Mobility Program, creating pathways to continue their academic journey in Melbourne. The programme offers three options: semester exchange opportunities, undergraduate transfer to Melbourne, and progression from undergraduate studies in India to postgraduate programmes in Melbourne, subject to academic requirements and availability.
