ISDI admission is based on merit and an entrance exam called the ISDI Challenge. The ISDI Challenge consists of three parts:

1. Portfolio or Design Project
2. Design Aptitude Test (DAT)
3. Online Interview

Candidates are evaluated based on their performance in these three components. The weightages are:

• Portfolio/Design Project - 40%
• DAT - 30%
• Interview - 30%

  For undergraduate programs, admission is primarily based on merit in the qualifying exam (Class 12). Candidates with higher marks in Class 12 have a higher chance of admission.

  Candidates first need to fulfill the eligibility criteria:

  • Pass Class 12 from a recognised board.
  • Minimum 60% aggregate marks in Class 12.

  Eligible candidates are then called for the ISDI Challenge. After clearing the ISDI Challenge, admission is granted based on merit.

A total of 230 students graduated during the 2021-22 academic year. As per the official data, 65% of the total students were successfully placed during the 2022 placements, whereas, 10% of the batch opted for Masters. XAT 2026 registration process began from July 10, 2025. Official announcement of commencement of XAT registration process 2026 has been made by XLRI at its website. Interested candidates have to register for XAT 2026 by creating a login ID at xatonline.in website. The XAT application fee will be INR 2200. Candidates will have to pay the fee to submit the XAT application form.

To get admission into ISDI School of Design & Innovation Mumbai, candidates have to appear for the ISDI Challenge. The ISDI Challenge comprises: Design Aptitude Test (DAT),  Personal Interview and Portfolio Review
