An overview of the hostel, curriculum, and examination system at B. Borooah College.
Placements: The placement cell facilitated placements for 133 undergraduate and 13 postgraduate students. The median package for UG is 4.97 LPA, and the median package for PG is 2.40 LPA. Every student must complete an internship (4 credits) during semester III. Some programs, especially BBA or B.Sc. (Statistics), show higher engagement and better packages with an average of 6 LPA and offers up to 18 LPA. B.A. and general UG courses may involve self-driven placement efforts and lower placement rates.
Infrastructure: The hostel rooms typically include a bed, study table, chair, fan, and almirah. Wi-Fi may be available in some areas. Warden oversight, clear conduct norms, and a controller environment help in maintaining discipline. The hostel celebrates a Freshmen Social in August/September and hosts cultural, literary, and sports competitions.
Faculty: B.A. and B.Sc. Honours involves a mix of a major subject plus a minor, alongside common courses like Ability Enhancement and Value Addition Courses across six semesters. For BBA (Hons.), a 3-year, 6-semester professional curriculum covering key areas like Principles of Management, Marketing, Finance, Organizational Behavior, Strategic Management, and offering electives and project work in the final semesters.

B Borooah College is accredited A+ by NAAC.
Placements: In my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) course, the percentage of students who get placed is around 90-95%, which is a huge batch. It is a government college, so placement or internships are not offered, and we have to do it on our own. Whereas, the staff members and professors are really helpful in guiding.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Classrooms are decent enough. Labs and the library are also good. The mess or canteen is not clean or hygienic. Besides, medical facilities are great and helpful for those who need them. Sports and games are also an important factor.
Faculty: Teachers are really good and helpful. They are really qualified and knowledgeable. Semester exams are not so difficult, and it totally depends on whether they study enough or not. The pass percentage is also not a big deal. We just required only 33%.

Dissatisfied because of faculty members, but chemistry department is very good.
Placements: Most of the alumni are doing very good. Some are researchers abroad and some are teaching in other colleges and universities. Some are very successful in other fields such as government jobs, private companies, and other businesses. The highest package is around 15 LPA - 20 LPA, and the lowest is around 4 LPA - 6 LPA. No particular top recruiting companies, don't know about internships. Top roles are university lecturer, teacher, assistant professor, researcher, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good. We have a pond, a student gathering area, common rooms for both boys and girls, smart boards as well, and drinking water availability. There is an average quality canteen. We have a gym, vehicle parking area, separate field for sport, and a library along with separate reading area.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. But teaching quality is poor. The curriculum is relevant. But not sure if it makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams are not really that difficult. It depends on the student's capability and average pass percentage.

Satisfied with faculty, excellent infrastructure, and placement is good.
Placements: Around 20%-30% of students got placed from our senior batch. The highest package offered is around 5 LPA, while the lowest is 2 LPA, and average is nearly 2 LPA-2.5 LPA. Not many top companies come to our college, but some local firms and startups do visit the campus. Internships are somewhat good. Around 50%-60% of students got internships from our batch, and mostly in good companies, and some even had to arrange internships on their own. Roles are mostly related to data entry, research assistant, sales, or junior analyst. So overall, placement opportunities are there, but very limited.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and the library are decent, and Wi-Fi is available, but it is slow sometimes. I don't have any idea about the hostel rooms as our college has only a boys' hostel. Medical help is available when needed. Sports facilities are limited, but basic things are there. Overall, it's good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and have good knowledge. Their teaching is understandable, and they support students. Teachers are very much accountable to the students. Our curriculum is also good. The placement facility should be improved along with the infrastructure.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in economics and wanted to build my career in it. The best part is the helpful teachers and supportive environment. However, placements and internship opportunities should be improved. The campus crowd is decent. Connectivity is good, and some scholarships are also available. More extracurricular activities would make it better.

An honest journey into B Borooah College and its precious environment.
Placements: About 80% of our students got placements in top companies. The highest package offered is approximately Rs 56,000 per month at the start only. Approximately all of our students of college got internship courses in various sectors. Top recruiting companies are Sunsilk and real estate builders with high reputations.
Infrastructure: There are dedicated classrooms, libraries, and good hygienic washrooms for the students. Wi-fi is available everywhere, especially in the library Good seating arrangements with wider capacity and air-conditioned labs and lecture galleries are available. Hostel facilities are also responsible and good for the students with good healthy tasty food, comfortable rooms with accessories, and overall a great study environment around.
Faculty: Teachers are all helpful and ready to teach something new with very kind behavior and they are highly qualified in their field with achievements and professional experiences. The course curriculum is relevant to the perfect extent as it does not hinder the student from falling under pressure but to learn the course easily and with great unit. The semester exams are both easy and hard according to the course. It is convenient to study and give exams for a student in the semester exams as there is not a huge syllabus comprising irrelevant topics that are not required.
Other: I chose philosophy as my honours as it paves the way for rapid growth and one can know that philosophy is the knowledge of reality and I find it very interesting. I wish our course would be even better if there were more smart classes than usual theory classes because it helps a student to visualize things which is easy to understand. There is a lot of scope for co-curricular activities. There are many ongoing events in our college and campus surroundings are also friendly and comfortable and also easily adaptable.

Expose Your Talents and See How B Borooah Flourishes Your Skills
Placements: There's no average package as there is no placement given by the college. The students rarely get internships from the college. The top courses offered by the college are BBA and B.Sc. IT. The college works on the holistic development of individuals. Above 85 percent of students are enrolled in the Political Science course.
Infrastructure: The college mess provides you with inadequate food. The students are mainly dependent on outside food. The mess doesn't provide good food. The infrastructure of the college is quite good with Assam-type rooms and a few buildings. The classrooms are digital, which helps in digital classes.
Faculty: Teachers are highly knowledgeable and they help you develop your skills. They act like a family, help you in your studies, and give opportunities to develop your personality. The course I am studying helps me in preparing for competitive exams and also helps me in building vast knowledge about the subject.
Other: The course I have chosen is Political Science. It helps me build vast knowledge about global politics. If you are studying Political Science, you must watch debates and discussions, which will help you develop your skills. If classes are taken more in the course, it will help students.
