Gauhati University MBA admission is completely based on the merit scores obtained by students in the university/national-level entrance exam along with their merit at the undergraduate level. The university conducts its own entrance exam for admission. A total of 120 UG 3-year students were a part of the placement season, out of which 38 students were placed, with a median package of INR 4.50 LPA. During the 2024 Guwahati University placement season, a total of 89 UG 4-year students were placed out of 128 students. The median salary offered in 2024 was INR 5.35 LPA per annum for four-year undergraduate students. Compared to 2023, the median salary for four-year undergraduate programs increased from INR 5.25 LPA to INR 5.35 LPA,. Out of 58 UG 5-year students 19 were placed with a median package of INR 4.15 LPA.

In all 405 students from PG 2-year were placed during Guwahati University placements 2024 with a median package of INR 9.50 LPA.
