I'm satisfied with faculty members and not so satisfied with the infrastructure.
Placements: I am a student of economics honors, which is a 3-year course under CBCS system of Calcutta University. The most number of recruitments are done by TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) once the student is in their final year (that is 5th semester). Placements are not that generalized since it's a government university and mostly TCS only comes for recruitment process.
Infrastructure: The full college has individual departmental Wi-Fi and departmental library other than the central library. Classrooms are quite decent, computer/electronics classrooms also have air-conditioning facilities. Labs are up to date with the latest instruments needed for practical learning of course. There is no hostel facility being provided. Canteen is available with some delicious and reasonable food, but the menu is limited. There are various kinds of extracurricular activities such as NCC, NSS, basketball, cricket, badminton, and table tennis.
Faculty: Professors are helpful and guide every student toward their dream career options based on their interests. Each professor becomes a personal mentor of a minimum of 2 students during the first year to know and guide them. Semester exams are not that difficult if classes are being attended by students. Pass percentage is 33.3% in each subject.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in economics. According to the canteen perspective, it would be nice to have some more menu options other than that campus life is quite good and peaceful. Fest, freshers, and farewells everything happens here but nothing in excess amount. There is no such distraction. Also, students can apply for Swami Vivekananda scholarship where each student gets Rs. 18,000 each year for their college studies.

Very Good Infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: In my course, there are more than 50 students. The course fee is very low. However, no recruiting companies offer any jobs. Nobody got an internship from my course. But the course quality is awesome. Students can get jobs with their learned skills and knowledge.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is awesome. The college rooms, bathrooms, library, and playground are totally clean. But there are no hostels in this college. The sports and gaming room is nice. Food facilities are not available in this college. Students can eat any type of food from the store in front of the college.
Faculty: The teachers in the college are very knowledgeable and well-qualified, and their teaching quality is wonderful. They teach the students well. There are a total of 6 semesters in this course, and the course duration is 3 years. Each year has 2 semesters, and over 3 years, there are 6 semesters.
Other: I chose this course because I love history.

Not so satisfied because we didn't get any placement.
Placements: I really don't know much about placement because when I completed my course, that was during the pandemic situation, so they didn't offer us any placement facilities. It's very unfortunate for me because of that, this course didn't help me at all for my career growth.
Infrastructure: That time, infrastructure wasn't that good. All instruments were not available, and we couldn't get a chance to practice much. The system of practicals was also not that good. The labs were not good at that time. Not many books were available at the library.
Faculty: Teachers' helpfulness was average. The semester exam was pretty difficult, and we were the first batch for the semester exams. The pass percentage was low in the first semester. I don't think this course makes students industry-ready. Teachers were qualified and knowledgeable.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Zoology - Batch of 2027

infrastructure and facilities are good.
Placements: I’m currently pursuing Zoology Honours at Behala College, which is under Calcutta University. To be honest, work in this college is slow. However, based on earlier studies and meetings with alumni, a significant number of students have gone out of the city to continue their studies in M.Sc. I’m in my second year now, and since last year, I’ve learned that to secure a placement, you need to work on improving your skills alongside your studies. This is first time the NEP (New Education Policy) has been introduced to our batch, which focuses more on developing market-ready skills than on bookish, theory-based candidates applying for jobs.
Infrastructure: We have separate common rooms for boys and girls. A good thing about this college is that we have many buildings with different departments for studying, as well as a huge garden with a pond used for botanical studies and relaxation during breaks. I don’t live in the hostel as it is near my house, but unfortunately, our college doesn’t provide any hostels. However, I have seen many PGs around our campus. Food in mess is good quality, and classrooms are well-organised with Wi-Fi connections.
Faculty: Faculty members are sometimes very helpful, but most of the time, they don't spend much time assisting us. However, they do help when we approach them. Semester exams are a major focus here. Students concentrate on clearing each semester, making them industry-ready. Semesters can be tough for those who don’t take notes, as teachers share many notes and PDFs in the WhatsApp group. Our college also has its website where PDFs for specific classes of respective departments are uploaded. It is the only college in Kolkata with an A+ NAAC grade.
Other: I would like to add that we have a huge library with air conditioning installed, as well as teachers for football and basketball. Basketball players are mostly recognized, as we have a basketball court for playing. Freshers' is also a big event for welcoming juniors, and many famous singers are invited every year.

Decent infrastructure with a satisfactory faculty.
Placements: There were some people coming to our college from different banks, but there were never any placements stuff in my course. Top recruiting companies would be HDFC and AXIS Bank. Around 40% students got internship in the above-mentioned companies. And I have no idea about the top roles offered in my course because I was never interested to pursue anything related to my course after graduation.
Infrastructure: There were all kinds of facilities and infrastructures like canteen, library, gym, Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms of course, and a playground. The quality of the facilities were above average. The quality of food available was okish in the canteen, medical facilities I have no idea. Sports and games were decent.
Faculty: The teachers were really helpful and qualified and knowledgeable about what they were teaching us. This course is no doubt curriculum relevant but it certainly does not make the students industry ready. And the exams were pretty easy for me, but for the pass percentage - I forgot?
Other: Well, I chose this course simply because I loved my subject.

Average college placements should be improved, and not fully satisfied.
Placements: In my course, not many students got placed. Placement percentage was very low, and there were hardly any companies visiting our campus for recruitment. No big or well-known recruiting companies came, and there were no proper placement drives organized. As a result, students did not get good opportunities or specific roles through college placement. Most of us had to look for jobs or internships on our own outside the campus.
Infrastructure: College has decent infrastructure with proper classrooms and labs. Labs are well-equipped, and new instruments are available for practical learning. Teachers guide us properly during lab sessions, which is helpful. Hostel and canteen facilities are available, but the quality of food in the canteen is not very good and is a bit costly. There are also some outside shops near the campus where students can get food. Overall, the infrastructure is fine, but the mess and canteen need improvement.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable and supportive, and they do their job well in teaching as well as in practical labs. Course curriculum is quite regular and covers the necessary subjects, but it is not fully updated to make students industry-ready. Exams are conducted on time and are of a moderate difficulty level, so most students are able to pass if they study properly. Overall, the faculty is good, but the curriculum needs more updates to match current industry requirements.
Other: I chose this course because it is good for a graduate degree (B.Sc. General). Theory classes should be held more regularly, and there must be an improvement in placement facilities.
