Absolutely dissatisfied of facilities and faculties.

Placements: Placements in Bengal College of Engineering and Technology for Women (now Bengal college of Engineering) are not very good. Hardly 5 to 10 students got placed in the campus placements while the others try their own at off-campus placements. The teachers are very poor, especially in the electronics and communication engineering department. Whatever the students achieve, they achieve on their own with minimum support of the college and faculty members. I was in electronics and communication engineering department where a total of eight students got placed in campus and ten to fifteen students got placed from computer engineering and IT departments. Companies like Tech Mahindra, Cognizant and Swadesh Software visited last year.

Infrastructure: Bengal College of Engineering is a private college under the West Bengal University of Technology. The infrastructure of the college is very small as there is only one building in which all the classes held for different departments. A total of six hostels are there, three for girls and three for boys. The girls' hostel is in shared with the girl students of another college(Bengal College of Engineering and Technology). The college lacks basic amenities like a good quality hostel, mess facilities and water problem which is a serious issue in the hostel. There are no AC room options available for the students, and no proper laboratories for practical. The books are limited in the library and many times, we have to arrange books by our own or from the seniors. A LAN facility is available for the students but with very poor speed and time limit. Not a single AC is available in classrooms, and even a generator is not available.

Faculty: The poor faculty members are the biggest cause of concern, especially in my department(electronics and communication engineering). All the teachers are around 25-35 years. While some of them teach very well, some them do not even know how to teach. There is lots of partiality from the teachers as they give preference and importance to the Bengali students and make fun of the other students. In viva, all the teachers gather to make fun of the non-Bengali students. This kind of behaviour demoralised many students here.

Other: This college must be the worst engineering college in terms of infrastructure, campus amenities and faculty members. There is a huge scarcity of toilets and water in hostels, and the college library is not updated. Hardly four or five companies visited for the campus selection, which were mostly software companies.

Candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Computer Application/Technical Vocational Subject as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) with above mentioned percentage in all the three subjects taken together in regular class mode. Candidate must have passed English in the 10+2 with at least 30% marks. The Board of the said Qualifying Examination must be recognized by the Central Government or State Government concerned. Candidate must be a citizen of India. The lower age limit is 17 (seventeen) years as on 31.12.2021. A candidate should have been born on or before 31.12.2004. There is no upper age limit. Students awaiting results can also apply on provisional basis.

Counselling
Admission is through counseling based on the rank obtained in West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam (WBJEE). Vacant seats will be filled by the institute based on the rank obtained in JEE-Mains
