B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2021
4.0
The beauty of Chandigarh Engineering College.
Placements: The facilities and infrastructure of the mechanical department are better than I expected and better than those of the other private colleges. The Wi-FI speed has increased recently. The classrooms are A/C connected. The CAD Labs are very neat, as are the other labs. The library has many good books and research papers. The quality of hostel food is not so bad. I do not know much about it, but my hostel friends are satisfied with it. Medical facilities are provided, and the grounds are big.

It is an average college with good placements. The syllabus is very outdated.
Placements: Our college does not guarantee 100 percent placements, as it depends upon students who have worked hard to get their placements by maintaining a good CGPA, AMCAT score, and other academic achievements. The lowest package offered is 2.5 LPA in sales. It invites companies, but offers low packages. The highest package offered is 54 LPA on campus. Companies like TCS, HCL, Infosys, and Amazon visit the college and hire students based on their mindset and achievements. Students get internships either by paying or for free from the college.
Infrastructure: The campus has good infrastructure. There are 6 floors, and each floor consists of different departments. My course is on the 5th floor in Wilson Block 3. Internet is provided after 1 year by making a student's internet ID. Classrooms are classic and not as good as in IITs. The library has different blocks.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified. They have years of knowledge, but their teaching style is not like what the current generation wants. The course curriculum is outdated, and it's not engaging with the new syllabus. According to today, AI is booming, but the syllabus is outdated. Semester exams are easy to crack, but the syllabus is heavily loaded, so the pressure of all subjects leads to low scores.
Other: I chose this course for leading in AI technology and a B.Tech degree. I think the college has to improve its academics. There are many clubs that organises many events inside the college.

Good infrastructure and placement, average food, and good teaching quality.
Placements: An overall placement rate of about 80 to 85% of students is achieved. The highest package was 54 LPA, the lowest was 3-4 LPA, and the average was 6-7 LPA. Amazon, Capgemini, Wipro, TCS, and many more. Around 70%+ of students got internships from many companies like TCS, IBM, and Capgemini. Top roles offered are software development, system engineer, data analyst.
Infrastructure: The college has modern, well-ventilated classrooms equipped with projectors, whiteboards, and smart classrooms. Computer labs, science lab, department-specific labs, and electronic labs. Wi-Fi connectivity is available in classrooms, libraries, hostels, and common areas. Hostel facilities are separated for boys and girls. Mess food is good, and medical facilities are available 24/7.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and supportive. Many faculty members are well-qualified, like (Ph.D./M.Tech). The level of teaching is moderate to high, based mostly on the syllabus and previous questions that help to prepare for the exams. Roughly 80 to 85%, depending on how seriously students take their studies.
Other: I chose this course because it offers a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical exposure. The college has strong placement support at CGC Landran. ,.

A:

When it comes to customizing the syllabus for B Tech in IT, you can always find some scope in the elective subject choices that you choose based on your interests. Every college give you a plethora of elective options to choose from.

College is good, but doesn't pressurise students academically.
Placements: Above 75% is needed to enroll in my course. The highest package is 50 LPA, and the lowest is 4 LPA. You need at least a 7.5 CGPA. A software engineering role is offered. Amazon, Deloitte, Axis Bank, and Dell recruit. CGC Landran has a dedicated Training and Placement Cell that supports students throughout the placement process.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good, but Wi-Fi does not work properly on some floors. Wi-Fi works well in the hostel, but not in the mess. Medical facilities are available 24/7. Sports and games, and a gym are also available in all hostel, but hostel food is so bad and tasteless.
Faculty: Teachers are so helpful during exam time, they clear all your doubts and provide examples at the level mode. The exam pattern focuses on both theoretical knowledge and practical understanding. Passing rate is difficult. Teachers also guide students in projects, exams, and placement preparation.
Other: Events and fests are so nice, but they separate girls and boys. Sometimes, we have our friends group, and they separate us. So, we can enjoy less. Please don't do this.

It is a good college. Overall, it is good for placements also.
Placements: Many great companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Adobe visit the college to hire students from this course. Many students get placed in them. The college also provides summer training courses that are important for company placements.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided in the hostel are good. The food is okay sometimes, but not like home food. However, if we pay so much, they should try give some good food. The food is not always bad, and many times, they give us the best food.
Faculty: Teachers, faculty members, and exams are very good. They are very strict about studies and discipline. All the faculty members are very good. They try to help children in all ways they can.

Review of Chandigarh Engineering College, Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran.
Placements: Around 15-20% of students get placed - the highest package is 54 LPA, the lowest is 3-4 LPA, and the average is 6-7 LPA. Adobe, Amazon, and Flipkart are mainly the top recruiting companies. Mainly, here students pursue web development, then it comes AI and machine learning.
Infrastructure: There is one hostel called Shantikunj where rooms are pretty good and spacious. The library is nice if we talk about infrastructure but bad when it comes to timings, as it allows students only on working days from 9 to 6. There are Wi-Fi facilities in every hostel. Mess food is average, but nice on some days.
Faculty: Exam level is moderate. Some of the teachers are really good at teaching and supportive. They try to make students industry-ready, but they must try to add more technical subjects from the 1st semester instead of others. Teachers here are qualified. Major teachers have completed their Ph.D.
Other: If you don't have any financial problems, explore other options. Otherwise, it might be an option for you.

Review of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran
Placements: Placement is good. About 65 percent of last semester's students got placed. The average package is about 5–6 LPA. Placement drives are continuing. Students from Chandigarh Engineering College also go to Chandigarh University during placement drives, as they have joint placements.
Infrastructure: The entire campus is Wi-Fi connected, and the classrooms are big enough. They have proper fans, lighting, and exhaust fans. Every classroom has a projector and a whiteboard. Hostel food is average, sometimes good, and sometimes bad. Non-veg food is available on selected days in the hostel mess. Medical services are available 24/7 with an ambulance for emergencies. Grounds for football, volleyball, basketball, and badminton are available.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, though some are rude. The course curriculum is relevant, but in the first semester, almost every branch has the same subjects. Later, subjects are assigned according to the stream. Semester exams are not too tough. With good study and concentration, students can easily pass them.

Good for CSE students but needs some improvement.
Placements: I am from the 2025 IT batch. 85 percent of students are placed with top companies like TCS Infosys Wipro Amazon Watchguard etc. Mostly roles include Software Developer Full sack Developer Data Analyst Sales and Marketing. The highest package offered is 40LPA and the average package offered is 6LPA. 80 percent of students got placed in major IT companies.
Infrastructure: Our CSE department has high speed Wi-Fi advanced labs smart classrooms and a well stocked library. Hostel facilities are comfortable mess food is decent canteen is clean and students get proper medical support along with good sports and gym facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly helpful and qualified and the teaching quality is decent. The curriculum is fairly relevant but needs more industry focus semester exams and moderately difficult and pass percentage is usually high with regular study.
Other: I chose this course for good career scope and the best part is good exposure and supportive faculty. Labs and industry training can improve. Fests are decent the crowd is mixed connectivity is good and extracurricular activities are fair.
