B.Tech. in Metallurgical Engineering - Batch of 2028
3.6

Satisfied overall because of good college infrastructure, placements, understanding seniors, etc.
Placements: Almost 77% of students in metallurgy branch got placed last year. The highest package is around 25 LPA and the average salary is 8 LPA. Core industries like steel companies, mining, etc., are strongly approaching metallurgy students. Some students have chosen non-core roles too and some went for higher studies.
Infrastructure: Recently new meta building is built. So its more spacious now. Library, classrooms, and labs are of course on top notch. The labs and lab assistant teachers are also good. Real issue is with Wi-Fi. In most of campus area, there are a lot of network as well as Wi-Fi issues. About hostel, its not less than home. Mess food is a little messed up. But its better than other colleges' mess. There are two canteens in the college. The meta canteen is good. But both canteens are a bit suffocating.
Faculty: Teachers are good. But the distribution of teachers is not good. In my case mechanical branch got most perfect teachers compared to us for the same subject. And for us we have teachers who don't teach that well and also who don't give proper marks in exams too. So, it badly affects our overall CGPA. Exams a good and strict too. About curriculum, we have a lot of clubs around 50, and gathering, impression, mindspark, etc. Some clubs are really good for career growth like robotics, aerospace, etc.
Other: There are a lot of scholarships you'll get in college. Most people don't even need to spend a penny in their pockets for fees.

B.Tech. in Metallurgical Engineering - Batch of 2028

College is really good. No worries about passing the exams.
Placements: I am M.A. first year student at the college. I am pursuing B.Tech in Metallurgy. As our seniors tell us, our college has nearly 100% placements.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available 24X7. Labs are fully equipped. Classrooms and library are excellent. Cafeterias and canteens are there on both college and hostel campus. Many fests are organized throughout the year. Students here are very exceptional. If you end up here, you will make a really good friend circle.
Faculty: There are two exams per semester and two semesters per year. You need to score a total of at least 30 marks in each subject to get passed. Out of 30, 20 are in teachers' hands (internal). You need to score 10-15 total in both mid-semester and end-semester accumulated. Teachers are very brilliant and experienced, and they always try new ways of teaching. Internal marks are 20. You just need to score total of 10-15 marks in mid-semester and end-semester.

B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2026

Very Good placement (overall), Hostel infrastructure is very poor.
Placements: Actually, I am currently in the third year of Electrical Engineering, but in the previous batch, above 90% of Electrical students were placed, which is also there on the COEP website. The highest is 22 LPA in Texas Instruments, the average is 7 LPA for Electrical, and the lowest is 5 LPA. Specifically for Electrical, major companies that visit are Texas Instruments, Schlumberger, Reliance, Schneider Electric, Rolls-Royce, ITC, and many more. Internships are very less for our course, maybe out of 95 students, only 10-15 students grab an internship offer, and companies are Legrand, Tata Steel, Hero Motors, Texas Instruments, etc.
Infrastructure: Regarding facilities and infrastructure, it is medium. Labs are very congested, Wi-Fi is good, and the library is not that good. The biggest con of COEP is the hostel infrastructure; only limited students are able to stay in the hostel. Hostel rooms are allotted according to CGPA and how far your home is from the college. The most important thing is that one room is allotted for 4 students, which is probably the biggest con of COEP Hostel.
Faculty: Teachers here are mostly helpful and very knowledgeable, but it also depends on the student and how they approach the faculty members. Mostly, teachers are Ph.D. holders, and some have done Masters. The assistant professors are selected on the basis of NET-UGC, and teachers have to go through an interview process furthermore.

Value for money and placement is 100%.
Placements: In B.Tech in metallurgy, the placements are almost 100%. Minimum salary is 5 LPA - 6 LPA. The students with minimum CGPA also have an opportunity to grab placements in this branch. Faculty members are also so supportive. They can help you throughout the whole process.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities are top-notch. The classrooms are too good and a very good environment to study. We also have a sports club near the academic complex where classes happen. There is a well-furnished library with Wi-Fi all over in college with range. There are many facilities here.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive. They guide us every time in careers and keep us motivated throughout the whole journey. They inspire us a lot. The course curriculum is relevant, and it definitely makes a student industry-ready. Semester exams are highly competitive and we deserve that.
Other: My family background is metallurgical therefore I selected this course. The teaching can be more practical rather than theoretical. Fests and events are top-notch. There are more than 50 clubs in the college.

Review of College of Engineering, Pune.
Placements: Around 80% of students get placed in our batch as I am from the electrical branch. The average package of the electric branch was 9.5 LPA in the past year. The top recruiting companies for our course are Mastercard, Mercedes-Benz, etc. Roles offered are electrical design engineer, power systems engineer, and control system engineer.
Infrastructure: Facilities are large. Classrooms have all digital services. It has 24-hour Wi-Fi, libraries, computer labs, etc. The quality of facilities is average. There are so many games in COE. Zest Fest is the largest sports event conducted in Maharashtra after IIT Bombay, so sports facilities are above average in our college.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and helpful. The course curriculum is relevant in many manners, but some portions are outdated. But it makes us industry-ready. Semester exams are above average for some subjects but some subjects are easy like we can pass after studying one night before.
Other: As I had no intention of choosing electrical before and after the CAT round I got an electrical course in this college. I will suggest more improvement in infrastructure in the college as some instruments are old. The college is full of events. It's really fun in the college life. The crowd is so talented in all manners. We will get many scholarships if we belong to a lower caste but if we are from general, we will get a scholarship like Shahu and Panjabrao Deshmukh.

Helpful faculty, updated syllabus, and easy-to-clear exams make COEP a great engineering college.
Placements: About 80% to 85% of placements are there in my college. The highest package is reached at 55 LPA, the lowest is 4.5 LPA, and the average is about 8 LPA to 9 LPA and the average for CSE branch is about 15 LPA to 16 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Bajaj, Deshaw, TCS, Tata Motors, Bharat Electronics, etc. There are around 270 companies that visited the college this year. Internship percentage is about 90%.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi network is good on the hostel campus but poor in college campus, especially in labs. There is no Wi-Fi and also no network. Food quality is very good in mess and the canteen of the hostel is poor. Sports facilities are very good. Big ground is there for COEP. Students and doctors are available in hostel. Gym facilities are also for both boys and girls.
Faculty: Semester exams are average and not too much difficult but faculty members for the CSE department are not experienced in other departments they are good. Course is irrelevant practical knowledge is not given here and theory is not properly taught. Semester exams are moderately difficult, but with regular study, students can do well. The pass percentage is usually high around 85%.
Other: There are 25 plus clubs in college and 5 fests are other which are very big, clubs like debate youth parliament, civil services, tech clubs, cultural club, drama club, NSS, and many more are there. Scholarship provided from alumni, Sakal Foundation, Cybage Khoosboo, Catalyst, etc.

To get lateral entry into B.Tech CSE at COEP Tech in 2025, you must have completed a Diploma in engineering with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) and studied Maths. Admission is done through Maharashtra's CAP counselling based on Diploma marks. Only 10% of total seats are for lateral

For the academic year 2023, COEP's B.Tech programme application date has already passed. Applications for the following year (2024) would probably open in the spring or early summer, as the academic year normally starts in July or August.

According to my knowledge with a score of 150 out of 200 in the MHT CET, you have a strong chance of securing admission to COEP Technological University in Pune, especially in certain engineering branches, maybe not for top branch. Top branches like Computer or IT are highly competitive, so admissio
