Awesome campus with good staff. A very good infrastructure with a green ambience.
Placements: Top companies like TCS, UST Global, and Wipro hold recruitment each year. Above 75% students get placements. The average package offered is 3 LPA. Placement training is provided for every student, mock interviews, and various tests are conducted for students in the 3rd and 4th years. Overall, good placement opportunities.
Infrastructure: Each department has its own seminar Hall, labs fully air conditioned, and Wi-Fi connection available in all classrooms. Library is very spacious. Decent food, both in veg and non veg, but a little bit crowded, maintained neatly. The doctor is available once a week. Excellent sports club and activities.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and have friendly behaviour. Exams are strictly conducted. 85% above the pass percentage (CSE). Conducting two series of exams in every semester. Teachers provide good support for Seminars, assignments, and projects. The curriculum is updated and covers most of the industry requirements.
Other: Many events like Freshers Day, Ethnic Day, Arts Festival, Tech Fest, Onam, Christmas, are conducted every year.

Good college for studies.
Placements: Placement rate estimates mainly fall between 50-65%, with some optimistic claims going up to 90%. Average packages likely reside between Rs 3.5 LPA to 6 LPA. One of the recent graduates got 11 LPA package at a company. Companies include TCS, Infosys, etc.
Infrastructure: College of Engineering, Thalassery has 30 acres hilltop campus with smart classrooms, labs, central library, Wi-Fi, hostels, buses, and sports facilities. It also has a research incubation center and auditorium. Our college has vibrant cultural and technical activities.
Faculty: COET offers B.Tech in CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, mechanical, and civil, plus M.Tech in selected fields. Curriculum follows KTU, with experienced faculty members, smart classrooms, labs, and industry-liked projects. Active mentoring, seminars, and research support are provided.

The college has good facilities and infrastructure.
Placements: In the Computer Science and Engineering course, almost 80% of students got campus placements. The highest package was 11 LPA last year. The lowest is Rs. 18,000 per month. The average salary package is almost Rs. 21,000 per month. Top recruiting companies are Infosys, TCS, and Wipro. Top roles offered are data analysts/business analysts or cloud & devops engineers.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is overall good. There's free Wi-Fi available in the department block. Lab facilities are also good. There are multiple computer labs, like the CG/ML lab, the NOS lab, the Department lab, the project lab, etc. Each has enough systems. Classrooms are also advanced. Every classroom has a projector, and some have smart boards. The hostel is also good. Rooms are spacious and have good infrastructure.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified. They're also helpful. Lectures are understandable and similar to school lectures. The curriculum is not that good. The syllabus of KTU is not good for the 2019 scheme. There is a lot of unnecessary content for us to learn, which will not help us in the tech industry. Now it has developed since 2024.
Other: Computer Science and Engineering is one of the best courses apt for this generation of emerging technologies like AI. The campus life is good. There are lots of events like tech fests, art fests, celebrations, and all. The college encourages sports like cricket, kabaddi, etc.

Politely, I am satisfied with my college overall.
Placements: Almost 70-80% of students got placed in this college. The highest package is 15 LPA, and the lowest package is 3.6 LPA, with the average spotted around 4.5 LPA. Cognizant, QSpiders, TCS, and Wipro are some of the companies that recruited students. 50% of the students got internships along with stipends from various companies, including the ones I mentioned above.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available for each department. Labs are often less, but they are available at any cost. Classrooms are conveniently satisfactory, although the desks and benches are small and slightly difficult to sit on. Hostels are very comfortable, and the food is decent.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and friendly, and they are highly qualified. The course curriculum is relevant. Here in this college, students achieve more industrial knowledge. Semester exams are moderately difficult, and the CS pass percentage is above 95%.
Other: Due to passion, I chose this course. They should utilize student knowledge by introducing more practicals. I am satisfied with events, fests, etc.

A normal day in my college.
Placements: The placements are okay. Big companies do come and take placement training and interviews, but mostly we need to search for placement opportunities. Out of 100% mostly 10-30% percentage of students get placed on campus. The top recruiting company is TCS.
Infrastructure: The college facilities are very good. There is a big library to get resources for studies and projects. There are big labs to help and upgrade our skills and knowledge. I'm a day scholar, so I don't know about the hostel, but my friends have said it's very clean and hygienic.
Faculty: Faculty members are a bit tough to mingle with, although they help with studies. Some faculty members are strict to mingle, but overall they are good. The exam schedule is very hectic, as we have exams each and every semester, including series exams, which are present within a semester. A lot of studying should be done.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to learn coding, and part of it was because my family members forced me. The best thing about my course is that I got to explore and get skilled up with good trainers. I wish the exam schedule were relaxed a bit. Events are highly appreciated, including all co-curricular activities, as they reduce the stress of studying.

Average college with outdated teaching methods.
Placements: About only 10% students got placed by companies so far. There are no noticeable placement training or features. The companies that come here are not that special. So it's kind of mid, below average. Only a handful of students get good internships, the rest are not doing anything, nor do they care.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is very good. Adequate Wi-Fi, great classes, nice labs. It's great altogether. Our department is well-equipped with modern facilities to support both academic and extracurricular activities. The campus has high-speed Wi-Fi accessible in all academic blocks and hostels, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for students and staff. The classrooms are spacious, equipped with projectors and smart boards, and provide a comfortable environment for learning.
Faculty: The teachers are generally helpful and approachable, with most being adequately qualified and having good subject knowledge. However, the teaching style can sometimes feel traditional, with limited focus on interactive or practical learning methods. The course curriculum is somewhat relevant and does cover the basics needed for the industry, but it lacks deeper exposure to the latest tools and real-world applications. Industry visits, workshops, and modern electives are limited, so students often need to do extra learning outside the syllabus to become fully industry-ready. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty.
Other: I chose this course as it matched my interests and career goals in technology. The best parts are the supportive faculty, basic labs, and a solid foundation curriculum. However, more hands-on training, industry exposure, and modern tools would greatly improve it. Campus events and fests are moderate but engaging, the crowd is diverse, and connectivity is decent. Scholarships exist but need a more transparent process, and extracurricular activities could be more frequent.
