I am absolutely happy here.
Placements: Our college does have a good placement cell but there are students getting placed based on pure skills. These are the companies that came to our college in 2024 Infosys, Vanenburg, TCS, CTS, HCL, UST, Mitsogo, Algomox, Electrifex 6D Technologies, Talrop Techmaghi, TVS, Larsen & Toubro, Visteon Enfost, MRF, Walkaroo Enhanz, OPmobility Armia. A Total of 41 students are placed, and 7 are from the IT department.
Infrastructure: We have a really nice college with a calm and quiet atmosphere, perfect for studying. A really good hostel provided by the college, but we have a small issue about rates, they are everywhere. Other things 10/10. Good mess, staff, seniors anti ragging. We have a good library with a lot of space to work and study, and many valuable books.
Faculty: We got some really good staff, professional yet friendly, and they teach really well. It is a good option while looking at engineering, it is the same as CS, we all learn the same things. We also have a good demand in the job market if you have great skills. The semester exams are not that tough. I have an 8.7 CGPA. I can say that I can simply reach 9, its just that I am not studying.

If looking for a Government College (last option), and good scenery and a good place (view also).
Placements: Here, the placements are very low. CSE is the branch with the most placements in this college. The average salary package is around 5-7 LPA. Here, to get an internship, you must find it yourself. Also, it is said that the NACC accreditation for the CSE was lost this year and has not yet been attained. So the CSE certificate will close its value.
Infrastructure: Here, for girls, they have 2 hostels situated near the college (5 meters). But the mess and other basic facilities are much worse there. Also, if you want to buy anything, you must travel around 6-7 km to reach the nearest town. For boys, things are not always certain. It's not near the college. Also, there is no certainty of food in the hostel always. Also, no facilities.
Faculty: There are teachers who are knowledgeable. Some are friendly and will teach nicely compared to other colleges, but some are not friendly. Some changes have been made to the course curriculum, but it does not make one industry-ready. Compared to other branches, the pass percentage is high for the CSE branch.

It's a good college to study for future.
Placements: Many companies have come for placements. Around 20- 30 LPA placement has been given to the college. Many students have been placed in this college. Good companies like Benz have arrived. Many companies are ongoing regular placements, and students are also doing well.
Infrastructure: College has full infrastructure facilities. College has good professors. They are well educated. They know how to take care of students, and in teaching, they are well-experienced. College provides a hostel for girls only, which means hostel is under construction. Hostel is good.
Faculty: Faculty at Government Engineering College (GEC), Idukki, are highly qualified, with most holding Ph.D. degrees from reputable institutions like IIT, NIT, and MIT. They are experienced and skilled in their respective fields, providing students with a solid foundation in electronics and other engineering disciplines. Curriculum at GEC Idukki is designed to provide students with practical knowledge and hands-on training in.

Satisfactory learning in this college as it provides good learning facilities.
Placements: About 25% of students were placed from our branch. Even though a university rank holder studied in our college in Electronics and Communication, which is a great achievement. The highest package from our college during 2021-2022 was 4.6 lakhs CTC, and the lowest package was 2 lakhs per annum. The recruiting company that selected more students from our branch compared to other companies during 2022-23 was Coromandel Electronics, Computer Science - Algomox, Information Technology - 6D Technology, and Mechanical - ZF. Also, Mitsogo, Quest, IBS Software, Experion, IBM, etc. GECI provides necessary internship opportunities from different companies. GECI provides different opportunities for the students, making them involved in various study-related programs outside the college.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are good, providing a good learning ambience. Projectors are available. There are labs for practical-related subjects. The Chemistry lab is not highly appreciated but has things that can be used to do some essential experiments. However, electrical, electronics, and computer labs are well-appreciated, providing very good internet facilities, and enough equipment and instruments to do all of our experiments, as these are the labs that engineering students handle more. We have a satisfactory central library and department libraries. Food available in the hostel mess is better than in canteens.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. Most of the teachers are dedicated enough to teach and clarify students' doubts, even during non-class times. They take good steps to elevate students by hearing their suggestions. They suggest books for the students for their studies. Dedicated students can achieve their goals easily with their guidance.
Other: I selected the ECE branch as it is a growing branch that can offer good job opportunities for the future. A student studying in this college will achieve a better variety of college life than any other college, as it is situated in the glimpse of nature, Idukki. The college provides a very good learning ambience to the students by enjoying the various diverse beauty of nature, unlike city center colleges. This is an eco-friendly college in Kerala. Students studying here are dedicated to preserving nature. There are more active clubs here that guide the newly admitted ones to achieve their dreams.

GECI - An unseen wonder in the middle of the hills.
Placements: The college seems to have a firm grasp on placements here. Maximum opportunities are provided for the last year students from the placement cell of GECI. In addition, the cell provides proper guidance and mentoring focused on aptitude and interview sessions. IT collects maximum offers due to its current relevance in the field. Also, GECI provides opportunities for internships for all the interested students. The top roles offered by different companies include software developer and designer posts. The packages offered so far range from 3 to 6 LPA. The college has mandatory guidance over the placements as well as internships for its students.
Infrastructure: Top-level infrastructure. All the departments have equal priority in construction with additional facilities of Wi-Fi. Classrooms are well constructed with projectors and digital equipment. A well-equipped library is at the heart of the college. The ladies' hostel provides a good and clean mess and accommodation. An affordable range of fees.
Faculty: Qualified faculty for all departments. Efficient teaching by professionals. The mentorship is good enough to make the students capable of dealing with the industries. The faculty provides maximum support to make the sense easier for the students. The college has an above 80% pass percentage.
Other: Because of the cool and calm, composed atmosphere of the college, it provides a good mentality for peaceful studying. No ragging or any harassment.

An 'above average' in terms of academics and 'below average' in terms of placements.
Placements: Only 1 student got placement from EEE in the year 2024, that too in a software company. The number of companies recruiting students from the EEE department in our college was very less. The top role offered was by L&T under the Graduate Engineer Trainee post.
Infrastructure: Hostels were good for the amount of ₹10 per day rent. Food was not that good. Facilities like Wi-Fi were provided but might not work for several days or months. Labs were not too bad. Sports were given importance by students, supported by faculty members, but the college ground is an adverse factor.
Faculty: The teachers of the EEE department were highly talented and had adequate knowledge of the subjects. The course must have some dismantling since newer technologies must be added. The third semester was bitterly difficult as it was a new stream for the students.
Other: The interaction between students will be high since most of them would be hostelers. The whole ambience along with the climate makes it a suitable college for your young lives. But the overall programs conducted by the college are less in number compared to other colleges.
