Cotton University offers various UG, PG and PhD courses, such as BSc, BA, BCA, MCA, MSC and MA. Admission to all the courses is entrance-based. The university accepts CUR-UG for admission to UG courses and conducts a university-based entrance exam i.e. CPGEE for admission to PG courses. Applicants seeking admission to any of these courses must appear in the entrance exam and score well to grab the final seat.

Admission t Cotton University is offered based on Class 12 aggregate of 50% to 60%  for UG level admissions. Whereas, for PG level admissions, candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in graduation. In addition to this, candidates must secure valid scores in accepted entrance exams. Considering 85% aggregate in Class 12 or graduation, candidates can successfully qualify the primary selection round. 

Yes, Cotton University Jaipur accepts entrance exams for admission to UG, PG, and doctoral courses. The entrance exam includes CUET and any other state-level entrance exam for admission to UG, PG and PhD courses, respectively. Additionaly, the university conducts university-level entrance exams i.e, Cotton University Post-Graduate Entrance Examination for admission to PG courses. 

As a Higher Education institution, Cotton College has gone through several milestones from the initial phase of being under Calcutta University to the present when it is one of the full-fledged autonomous state universities of Assam. It is a Public State University established in 1901 by Sir Henry Stedman Cotton, the Chief Commissioner of the erstwhile British province of Assam.

It was established in 2017 by the provisions of an Act enacted by Assam Legislative Assembly to merge the Cotton College State University and Cotton College.

Cotton University has concluded the Online Counselling process for admission to UG courses. Cotton University admission 2023 to UG courses is based on CUET UG scores followed by the counselling conducted at the university level. Cotton University application process varies for UG, PG, and PhD programmes. Candidates need to apply through the university website, and Assam State Admission Portal for PG and UG programmes respectively. Eligible candidates must visit the official website of the university and click on the Applicant's Login given under different programmes, such as PhD, UG, PG, and HSC, and fill out the application form and pay the application fee.

According to the NIRF report 2024 released by Cotton University, the median package offered during UG 3-year and PG 2-year placements 2023 stood at INR 5.15 LPA and INR 3.89 LPA, respectively. Earlier, the NIRF report 2023 is released. According to the report,  13 UG and 95 PG students were placed during Cotton University Placements 2022.

The median Package offered to UG (3-year) students during placements 2022 stood at INR 5.34 LPA. For PG (2-year) and PG (3-year) courses,  the median package offered during Cotton University placements 2022 was INR 3.62 LPA and INR 3.80 LPA, respectively.
