Enjoyable B.Com journey with good academics, but infrastructure needs improvement.
Placements: I completed my B.Com Degree in 2025 from DAV College, Chandigarh. Being a part of the 2022-2025 batch, I would say that my overall academic and professional experience is quite good. In our course, around 65-70% of the students are placed through campus placements. The highest package offered is around 8LPA, and the average is around 4-5LPA. Some of the top companies that recruited are ICICI Bank, Wipro, KPMG, Infosys, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities of the Commerce department were quite average due to frequent electricity fluctuations. The Wi-Fi facility is also quite decent as it did not provide adequate speed. The library is well-maintained with air conditioning, and borrowing is also a very easy process.
Faculty: The teachers are quite helpful, qualified, and approachable. The curriculum of the degree is relevant and covered important topics, but I feel that more industry-focused case studies could make it even better. As for the semester exams, they were of moderate difficulty, but with regular class notes and study, most students managed to score well.
Other: I chose this course because I'm interested in commerce and finance and DAV college had a good reputation providing strong academic support with placement opportunities. The best thing about my B.Com course is that it gives a strong foundation in subjects like accounting, business law, economics, and taxation, which are helpful if you want to pursue MBA, CA, or CS. That being said, I think there are a few things that can definitely improve. The courses could include practical workshops, more industry exposure, etc., which are helpful for one's future. Life on campus is lively, and the events and fests like annual youth fests, cultural programs, etc., made college life enjoyable and gave us opportunities beyond studies.

It has decent academics and good facilities, but lacks industry exposure.
Placements:  The percentage of students who get placed is 2%. The highest package offered is 4 LPA. Mostly, companies that visit the college are call centers. Roles offered are mainly for a call center or other small roles. Internships are very limited, and students get internships in companies like Zomato, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, etc.
Infrastructure: The college offers excellent facilities, ensuring a comfortable and enriching experience for students. It provides high-speed Wi-Fi, a well-stocked library, and well-maintained classrooms. Labs are available based on the course requirements, ensuring hands-on learning. For sports enthusiasts, the college features a main cricket ground, basketball court, badminton court, gym, and even a shooting range. There are also two large parks, perfect for relaxation and group discussions. Multiple canteens (3-4) serve delicious and hygienic food, catering to diverse tastes. Additionally, the college provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls, ensuring a safe and convenient stay for students.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-qualified and supportive, though some rely on traditional teaching methods. The course curriculum is structured but lacks industry-oriented training, requiring students to seek additional internships for better exposure. Semester exams are moderately difficult, with a fair marking system and a good pass percentage. Regular study ensures decent performance. The college offers strong academics, good infrastructure, and a comfortable learning environment. Students must put in extra effort to gain industry-ready skills. Overall, it is a great place for education, but practical exposure could be improved.
Other: The college has different clubs for extracurricular activities. Regular events are conducted by these clubs. A college fest is organised every year. It should provide better practical training.

College is good but mostly students don't come because of low fine.
Placements: Many companies come for placement. The minimum package is 2.50 LPA to 22 LPA on an average is 4 LPA. Maximum financial and sales company come for the placement. A minimum of 60% is required. 40% of students get the placements. Top role is sales executive.
Infrastructure: The Department of Commerce offers excellent facilities and infrastructure to support the academic and professional development of students enrolled in the B.Com course. The Wi-Fi facility is normal and not working properly. Food is average not good or bad. Sports are good. .
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good with practical insights. The curriculum is relevant and industry-oriented. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty, and the pass percentage is around 33%.
Other: I chose B.Com to deepen my knowledge in commerce and boost my career prospects. The best parts are expert faculty, practical learning, and good placement support. Improvements are needed in internships and exposure. Campus life is vibrant with events and good connectivity.

    Everything about DAV College, Chandigarh.
Placements: There is no information about the highest or the lowest packages offered but there is a placements cell present in our college. My seniors have got internships too. The top companies visiting the college include Google.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not so good, it's average like any other regular college nothing fancy. There is only 1 library but it's quite big. Wi-Fi is available in our college. The classrooms are medium sized. The hostel facilities are good and the food provided is also really good.
Faculty: The teachers teaching here are really qualified and experienced. Their teaching level is excellent and the course curriculum is relevant too. It makes the students industry ready. There are many practical skills involved in the course taught by teachers. The semester exams are quite difficult in the college but even then more than 50% students still manage to pass the exam.
Other: I chose this course as I want to pursue Chartered accountant as my profession and I wanted a degree too. I chose B.Com as it has almost the same syllabus to cover. The college can reduce the number of subjects in the course to make it better as it has 8 subjects currently. There are events and fest regularly conducted by the college.

Dav College: pros and cons .
Placements: There are approximately 40 students in every section of B.Com., and there are 4 sections of B.Com. in the college. The college has several internship opportunities and facilities—not very many, but yes. The companies that come in the college are very well known and provide good opportunities.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very well maintained and constructed. Although there are many facilities that can be provided and improved, which the college could work on, the overall experience is good. The hostel, however, is very expensive and not worth it.
Faculty: Exams are held every 6 months and midterms are held before the semester exams. The course curriculum is very relevant and makes the students industry-ready as the teachers guide us through real-world problems continuously and help us understand things properly.

Satisfied with the college, according to the fee structure.
Placements: There are very few placements I really like going to the college; they can improve by putting air conditioners in. I have not seen any placements in this college till now I don't know about Punjab University since our college comes under Punjab University.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. The food quality available in the canteen is good. I don't know about hostels but the SCA council do work and tries to maintain everything. It is till now the best college I have seen and I really like going to the college. They can improve by putting air conditioners in.
Faculty: I really like going to the college; they can improve by putting air conditioners. I have not seen any placements in this college till now. I don't know about Punjab University since our college comes under Punjab University. Exams are handled properly with proper actions.
