The DLIS MLISc admission process involves various steps. These steps are the online application, merit-based selection, fee payment, etc. All the steps included in the process of DLIS MLISc admission are discussed below in detail:

Step 1: DLIS MLISc Application Process

Aspirants must begin with the online application process. They must visit the admission portal of SVU on https://application.somaiya.edu/ to fill out the pre-admission form. The application form must be submitted with a non-refundable fee of INR 250.

Step 2: DLIS MLISc Selection Process

MLISc admission at the Department of Library and Information Science (DLIS) is offered to eligible applicants based on their merit, branch preference and availability of seats. The candidates are informed about the provisional admission/ waitlist number through their registered email ID.

Step 3: DLIS MLISc Admission Confirmation

Candidates who have been offered a provisional seat must pay the seat confirmation fee of INR 25,000 within eight days of the receipt of the offer letter. Those who do not pay the requisite amount before the specified deadline will lose their claim on the confirmed seat during that phase.

The final confirmation of admission is subject to physical verification of the documents. In case of non-availability of valid documents, the provisional admission may be cancelled. DLIS is a constituent unit of SVU, Mumbai. Students enrolled in all the programmes under SVU are eligible for financial aid. The financial aid is provided to eligible and deserving candidates in the form of tuition fee concessions. To be eligible for DLIS SVU scholarships, applicants need to fulfil any one of the following criteria.

• EWS/BPL: Applicants with family income up to INR 8 LPA are eligible for financial aid worth up to 100% on the tuition fees
• PWD: Applicants with benchmark disabilities (40% or more) are eligible for a concession of 50% on the tuition fees
• Defence Personnel: Wards of defence personnel disabled or deceased in the line of duty may receive a 50% concession on the tuition fees
