Department of Technology, Shivaji University was established in 2006 to offer students with technology & engineering education and conduct research on global standard for human resource development. It has been accredited with A Grade by NAAC. It is recognised by AICTE - New Delhi, DTE - Govt. of Maharashtra. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in varied fields such as Engineering, Business and Management Studies and Science. It has provisions for several other buildings for housing administrative staff, cafeteria, gymkhana, workshop and other utilities. It focuses on outcome-based teaching and learning process.

MITAOE Alandi Pune is costlier, with total fees around ?5–7.5 Lacs including hostel.
If budget is a key factor, DoT Shivaji University is the better choice.
