90 Marks in JEE Mains 2026 Percentile: Is 90 marks in JEE Mains 2026 a good score? Will you get any NIT for 90 out of 300 marks in JEE Mains? If you are worried about scoring less than 100 marks in JEE Mains 2026, then we have some news for you. Candidates who score 90 marks out of 300 in JEE Mains 2026 have various options of getting a seat in courses like Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and many more. However, top NITs like NIT Trichy, NIT Karnataka, NIT Rourkela, NIT Warangal, and NIT Calicut will not be available for 90 marks in JEE Mains

On this page, we have analysed how much percentile you will get if you score 90 marks in the JEE Main exam. Candidates should keep in mind that this is an estimation and not an accurate analysis. Analysing the exact JEE Main percentile for 90 marks is not possible, as the percentile marks depend on various factors like the number of candidates appearing for the exam, the highest score in the exam, the level of the exam difficulty and the number of shifts. Shiksha experts have analysed the JEE Main 2026 marks vs percentile data from various reliable sources and from the past few years to estimate what 90 marks will be in JEE Mains percentile 2026.

Commonly asked questions
Q:   What is CRL in JEE Main Cutoff?
A:
CRL stands for the Common Rank List. NTA releases the cutoff in several categories one of which is CRL. Basically, CRL means unreserved category. Candidates belonging to unreserved category need to have JEE Main cutoff equal to or more than the CRL cutoff. The other categories for which cutoff is released are Gen-EWS, Open-PwD, OBC-NCL, SC and ST.
Q:   How much is 120 marks in JEE Mains percentile?
A:

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will declare the JEE Mains result 2026 in the form of percentile scores. Candidates can check here the previous year JEE Main marks vs percentile data to understand how much is 120 marks in JEE Main percentile.

As per the last year JEE Main marks vs percentile analysis, 120 marks would be around 95 to 97 percentile. However, the exact JEE Main 2025 percentile marks 120 would vary depending upon the highest number scored by the candidate in a particula shift and the total number candidates appeared in that particular shift.

Q:   What are the types of JEE Main cutoff?
A:
JEE Main cutoff is of two types, one is qualifying cutoff for JEE Advanced and the other is admission cutoff for the institutes. JEE Main qualifying cutoff is released by the NTA along with the result and is in the form of percentile scores. NTA releases JEE Main cutoff for a total of six categories which include unreserved (CRL), Gen-EWS, Open-PwD, OBC-NCL, SC and ST. JEE Main admission cutoff is released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority JoSAA and is in the form of All India Rank.

How to calculate JEE Main 2026 Percentile from Marks out of 300?

To calculate JEE Main percentile 2026 from your marks out of 300, you would need the following details:

  1. Your score in the exam out of 300
  2. Number of candidates who have scored less than or equal to you in your shift
  3. Total number of candidates who have appeared in your shift

Only the first data is readily available. However, the rest of the two data sets are hardly available. Therefore, the calculation of the exact percentile score becomes very difficult.

NTA uses the following formula to calculate the NTA score (percentile score) from the raw marks of the candidates:

The raw scores of the candidates are converted into a percentile score or NTA score in each subject. The total marks out of 300 are also converted to a percentile score using the formulas below:

The final percentile score of JEE Mains and the ranks are based on the best performance of the candidates out of both attempts of the exam.

Yes, students may get a seat in NIT Puducherry BTech with 92 percentile in JEE Main through JoSAA counselling. The cutoff is high for specialisations, such as CSE. With NITPY being one of the top institutes and part of the NIT Tag, the cutoff is always high. But 92 percentile can be enough for later

If a question is dropped in the JEE Main exam, then the candidates of the shift from which the question is dropped will get bonus marks. It does not matter if you attempted the question or not. If a question from your shift is dropped then you will be eligible for +4 bonus marks.
