University of Jammu's bitter truth.
Placements: No one got placed in my course; they do not give any placement; they sometimes give internships to the students who are pursuing law there, but for us, there was none, and there was not even any kind of internship, so I prefer students not to take admission in this university because they don't give any internships as well as placements here.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are well-made; they have proper ventilation as well as proper technical support like speakers and projectors and they are also well-equipped with white boards Wi-Fi support is on campus, as there are optical fiber cables all around the campus. The hostel is also average, as it contains only a single bed with a mattress, a chair and table and an almirah. The washrooms and toilets are common. The food quality available in the mess and canteen is also good, as they have a huge variety of food there which is also affordable. Sport and games facility are also there and have separate courts as well as grounds for them.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, highly qualified and knowledgeable too. I don't think this course curriculum is relevant and this course doesn't make the student industry ready, as this is the main drawback of this course. We are studying psychology and sociology in this course but we are not getting anything back. Semester exams are not difficult or tough; they are lengthy, as one has to write 5–6 pages for a question that is worth 12 marks and in this case, we have to take 37 marks to pass a subject.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in philosophy and sociology. For that reason, I chose this course In this, we got a huge variety of diversity, like we can do M.A. if we want to do Masters in the same way if we want some skill-type master, we should ho for MBA. They should start giving internships and placements because this will help people alot. There are a lot of festivals that are organized; even the campus crowd is a bit crowded, and the connectivity is also great at the university. They also gave scholarships to the students who fell into certain categories, like those who fall under schedule tribe or schedule caste.

According to me, Jammu University is the best university to study in.
Placements: Many people got good marks in my batch. Most students got good placements in MNC companies. I was working at Reliance Nippon Life Insurance Company as an Assistant Recruiting Development Manager, and many of my friends were working abroad.
Infrastructure: They provided the best infrastructure, the best canteen, and the best library. The hostel infrastructure was really good. The bathrooms were neat and clean. The workers came daily to clean the hostel surroundings, and the warden took care of every student living there.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful. They helped every student if they were facing any problem. They really supported us. The curriculum of the university was top-notch compared to other colleges. Every student who studied there was ready for every situation, and many students who studied with me were doing their jobs abroad.
Other: I wanted to study this course because I loved reading theory. The thing that should have been better was that the campus should have planted more trees. The events were the best thing that I had done at my university. The best time I had was with the curriculum of the university.

It was a good experience .
Placements: So our batch had around 50-55 students and all were very nice, there was no such thing as placement or something or any recruiting companies. As it was a college under Jammu university although there were counselling sessions for students and awareness about placement in other colleges .
Infrastructure: Our college was newly developed the infrastructure was actually very great there was a proper library labs which had all the material necessary for the experiments the teacher were very supportive overall the whole college had a very positive aura and was very clean students used to take very good care of the hygiene of college and the staff was also cooperative which eventually never made the college surrounding dirty the classrooms were very well maintained there were smart classes and AC installed in classrooms the benches were comfortable the labs had every thing needed and were very spacious.
Faculty: The teacher were actually very good they were motivating us through out the course although there were few actually one teacher of mine who was not so very cooperative but I somehow managed with it but all the teacher had great knowledge about their subject they used to provide notes and do everything they could to make us understand the subject about the semester exam the papers were set by the university only and they used be of a good level although they usually always have done strict marking which resulted in back paper of many students .
Other: Okay soo my subjects were these in my school so I had go further with it and I guess there should be some sort of improvement in the checking of papers because that was very strict and overall there were extracurricular activities there were opportunity I was selected from my college for a project which was for the girls from colleges around Jammu & Kashmir and I was selected .

Q:   Is it good to pursue BA in English literature?
    ShikshaGPT says
    A:
Hi Balaji, Once graduated in B. A. (Hons.) English literature, you could do your M.A. or an MBA. There are several higher study options for meritorious graduates in English language and literature, such as journalism and mass communication; management; tourism administration; law; international relations; linguistics; communication management; film editing and direction; visual communication; and library and information science and forms of creative arts like drama and cinema. You can explore the option of doing some specialised post graduate courses for which graduation is needed in the field of media, multimedia, public relations, foreign languages, teaching, social work, finance, retail, design, hospitality, stocks, aviation etc. based on your interests and strengths. If you have a flair for writing, have good communication skills and a reading habit, journalism or mass communication is a good choice. You could also opt for academic careers like teaching and research and particularly training. English language training is a big and growing sector in India with jobs freelance and full-time options as an English language trainer or a voice and accent trainer. English can also help in being a part of call centres, TV, Radio, reporting and also in the advertising industry. You can also work in an embassy. I hope it helps. Please feel free to revert. Wish you luck.
