GIBS will assist with getting students into job positions that match their specialisation through academic planning, industry exposure and career support, rather than a generic model of job placement. From the beginning, students work with faculty and the placement centre to explore what their interests and career goals are (for example marketing, finance, HR, analytics, operations or entrepreneurship) and develop the appropriate skill sets and opportunities related to those interests.Specialisation Program: All courses have been designed to meet each major's criteria with real-life examples and projects, as well as assessments to develop skills in your area of expertise.Skill Development Workshops: Ongoing workshops are offered to improve students' abilities in the respective areas of expertise, with certification opportunities (example: digital marketing, financial modelling or HR analytics), which enhance students' profiles.Industry Interactions and Guest Speakers: Industry experts will provide guest lectures, mentorship and networking opportunities to provide students with valuable insight into their industries, so that they can align their learning with expectations of the industry.Internships and Live Projects: Students have the opportunity to experience internships in their field of study and gain valuable work experience and develop strong resumes for full-time employment.Personalized Placement Support: The placement cell offers mock interviews, resume reviews, and coaching for specific companies to help students prepare for the role in which they will work.Businesses Connect: Recruiters/Educators have a connection to help students pursuing a specific domain (e.g., research analyst, financial consultant, HR executive) have the opportunity to apply for positions suited to great career paths. Both these initiatives offer students the chance to have a deep understanding of their major and be connected with a greater number of recruiters that value a transition to those disciplines and improve the likelihood of obtaining connected employment.

In the new GIBS campus, students learn in a modern, interactive and professional setting. There are upgraded AC digital classrooms, smartboards, high-speed Wi-Fi, fully equipped labs, auditoriums and creativity rooms that promote hands-on learning rather than purely theoretical learning. The campus has been designed to create specific spaces for group discussions, presentations/interactions with industry representatives and special events like IRE Talks, TEDx and Leadership Programs. These types of environments enable students to develop their confidence and acquire practical, real-world skills required by businesses. Green spaces, sports facilities and relaxation areas also contribute to students' mental well-being while alleviating pressures placed upon them during their academic studies/programs. Finally, the new campus provides exposure to settings similar to those found in large corporations with opportunities for collaboration, innovation and leadership; thereby providing students with a better foundation for their future careers and professional endeavors.

The PGDM programme at GIBS Business School is unique in its focus on practical learning and industry driven methods rather than theory alone. The programme provides dual specialisations so that students can study core areas of Marketing, Finance, HR or Operations and combine them with emerging fields such as Business Analytics, AI, Digital Marketing or International Business. Integration of live industry projects, hands-on learning through fieldwork, internships, corporate visits and case-based learning occur during all four years of the PGDM, meaning students have early real world exposure. Additional initiatives such as the IRE School (Innovation, Research & Entrepreneurship), CEO talks on a regular basis, mentoring from alumni and skill-building workshops provide students with opportunities to develop leadership, communication and problem-solving skills. The PGDM at GIBS also has strong placement support along with personality development and global exposure opportunities; therefore, students completing the PGDM programme will be job-ready and prepared to become future leaders. Because of these factors, GIBS's management programme is different than other traditional management programs.

As a student, I've seen how they start grooming us from day one itself — communication training, aptitude, GDs, mock interviews, networking, all of that keeps happening casually in the background.Plus GIBS has this crazy corporate network that keeps coming on campus for talks, internships, and projects, so by the time final placements start companies already know us and we've already built a profile. And we don't go into interviews empty — live projects + internships + IRE sessions + certifications give you real stuff to talk about. What I really felt is — GIBS doesn't treat placements like a formality, they treat it like the end goal of the whole PGDM/BBA journey. So even weaker or shy students get pulled up and prepared properly. That's why hitting 100% placement feels normal here and not hype.

For mental well-being, I think the best thing GIBS does is not push panic into students. They don't make placements feel like a do-or-die situation. Instead, they motivate, guide, and personally follow up with us. If someone is stressed or confused, mentors actually sit and talk through it instead of just saying “prepare more.”Plus, there are always activities happening on campus—sports, fitness sessions, IRE brainstorming meets, masterclasses, competitions, talks, etc. So the atmosphere never becomes dull or anxious. The vibe stays energetic and positive, which honestly matters a lot during placement season.

GIBS is unique among standard MBA universities by focusing more on real-world experiences and application-based education instead of just theory and lectures in class.GIBS is not just about exams and lectures. They place a strong emphasis on actual projects, internships, site visits to companies, industry speakers, international exposure (IRE), skill certifications, and continuous placement assistance starting from Year 1! Students also receive training in communication, leadership, personal development, and interview preparation skills during class time. Most traditional MBA institutions only teach students how to do these things at the very end of their program. With a strong faculty mentoring program, access to industry contacts, entrepreneurial assistance, and a results-driven placement process, GIBS prepares its graduates with all the tools necessary to succeed in their corporate careers, as opposed to simply providing students with a diploma. therefore making GIBS's educational programme dynamic, career-oriented, and providing students with an education that is future-ready.

The Graduate Institute of Business Studies (GIBS) has a comprehensive training programme that equips students with the skills necessary to succeed in placement interviews and assessments. The training begins at the beginning of the Shortened Completion Programme (SCP) and follows a step-by-step approach.During the SCP, students complete regular aptitude training in quantitative ability, logical reasoning, and verbal skills. This type of training includes the completion of mock assessments designed to replicate real-life company assessments. In addition, GIBS conducts mock interviews, group discussions, and personal interview practice. Faculty and industry experts provide feedback to improve students' confidence and ability to communicate during the interview process.GIBS's Placement Team works closely with each student to assist them in building an effective resume, aligning their work profile with their career aspirations, and preparing for HR-type interview questions. Each student learns to recognise their own strengths and how to articulate their career path based on their specialisation. In addition to these components, GIBS also provides technical and professional development through the process of providing students with soft-skills training, attending personality development sessions, and attending corporate etiquette workshops so that they will be interview-ready for final placements.

We had projects with companies in areas like marketing campaigns, digital branding, analytics, finance research, HR processes, etc., depending on the specialization. Most of them come through corporate tie-ups or guest companies visiting for IRE talks. For example, we did assignments related to market surveys, competitor analysis, sales pitch strategy, social media projects, business model studies and even product feedback surveys for real companies. The best part is each company gives a proper brief and expects submission and presentations, so it feels like real work. This helped me personally get clarity about roles and how industry actually functions. I feel this part really bridges the gap between theory and what companies expect in placements.

If you're asking about the PGDM at GIBS, honestly the eligibility part is pretty straightforward. You just need to have completed your graduation in any stream (like BBA, BCom, BTech, BA, etc.). Even students who are in their final year can apply — so it's not like you need to wait forever.Apart from that, you need to have a valid score from entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, KMAT, etc. Nothing scary — even I applied with MAT. GIBS looks more at overall fit, motivation, and how serious you are about building a career than just raw marks. For me the best part was that GIBS gives importance to practical learning, placements, IRE, and exposure rather than just theoretical stuff. So once you're eligible and you get in, the experience actually pays off. It's more about who you become during the programme than just the admission process.
