GIBS Business School in Bangalore incorporates an extensive amount of actual business exposure into its courses so that students do not just learn about business theories in class but can observe them applied in real business settings. This is done through the following methods: Guest Lectures and IRE Talk SeriesIndustry experts, CEOs, entrepreneurs, and other influential business figures regularly visit the school to deliver talks, hold workshops, or conduct corporate sessions that offer students real time insight into how business operates within the marketplace. The school has an IRE (Innovation, Research, and Entrepreneurship) Talk Series, which has had hundreds of guest speaker presentations exposing students to current trends, challenges, and opportunities from an experiential basis by working with actual practitioners.Live Projects and Business Simulations Every student will complete live industry projects and case studies during their time at GIBS (such as working on real issues facing companies rather than textbook exercises). All students at GIBS will experience business simulation exercises and analytics workshops that simulate real corporate situations. Industrial Visits and Field ExposureAll students at GIBS (including those who have not yet completed their course work) will participate in industrial tours of companies in various industries including those in marketing, finance, human resources, and operations.Students will follow up those tours with reports that summarize what they learned on the tour and how it applies to their field or chosen career path. The products of these reports will prepare students for the workforce by giving them enhanced understanding of the way businesses work.Internships and Career Opportunities• Internship Programs and Associated corporate relationships (through an internship program) are an integral part of GIBS course curriculum. These opportunities allow students to directly apply their learning in the workforce and develop their professional skill set. Many of these internships can directly lead to job placements after graduation.5. Curriculum Links to Industry (70% Practical Emphasis)GIBS embraces an experiential learning model, which consists of approximately 70% practical/industry-linked learning and 30% theoretical learning; thus, enabling students to feel comfortable transitioning to the real world of business after they graduate.6. Alumni Networks & Corporations The student body can leverage its alumni network and its connections in business for mentorship, networking opportunities, and knowledge about the cultural and professional expectations of the business world. Thus, GIBS combines guest lectures, live projects from industry, internships, opportunities to visit companies, corporate workshops, and an industry-oriented curriculum with the goal of connecting students with business before they graduate.

To gain admission into either the MBA or PGDM programs at GIBS Business School, applicants will typically be required to satisfy the following qualifications:Consistent with previously submitted academic requirements related to education, applicants must hold, at a minimum, a Bachelor's Degree (from an accredited institution) in any discipline, and have achieved, at a minimum, 50% cumulative marks (or equivalent CGPA). The University may consider relaxations according to reservation policy (if applicable) as it pertains to the admissions process. An applicant (who is not transferring from another University) must have scored highly enough on an acceptable management entrance examination such as the CAT or the MAT or CMAT or XAT, ATMA, or GMAT to be eligible for admission into either the MBA or PGDM program. In addition to fulfilling either of the above admissions requirements, final-year students will be considered eligible to apply provided that they will submit proof of degree requirement completion prior to the last possible date required by the University. The admissions requirements outlined above have been established to assist applicants in determining their suitability for admission into the GIBS Business School master's program; I could provide you with some general information on what the institution expects as minimum cutoff scores for each of the various aforementioned examinations for entrance into either of the GIBS master's programs if you wish.
