GMCH Chandigarh Cutoff 2025: Check NEET UG Round Wise Ranks

Government Medical College And Hospital, Chandigarh, famously known as GMCH, Chandigarh, offers a BSc under four specialisations. The college grants BSc admission to applicants who are eligible as per the following eligibility criteria:

• Candidates must have passed Class 12 (from a regular school or National Institute of Open School) or a relevant Diploma/Vocational Course or any other equivalent qualifying examinations individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, with an aggregate of at least 45% for General/General PwD and 40% for SC/SC PwD
• Candidates currently appearing in the Class 12 examinations or awaiting their Class 12 results are eligible to apply for provisional admission.

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, opening rank was 91 and closing rank was 21428. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. Admission to MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in GMCH Chandigarh - Government Medical College and Hospital is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam NEET. The cutoff trend for medical Courses at GMCH Chandigarh - Government Medical College and Hospital has been decreasing in the recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for medical courses. under general category for all India quota was 581045. In 2022, it decreased to 21428.

The GMCH Chandigarh seats are divided into two major categories: the All-India Quota and the State Quota. There are General (Open) and reserved seats in the both the categories. • 5% of the total MD and MS seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark disabilities (PwBD) on horizontal basis as per NMC norms

• Additional seats are reserved under various MD and MS specialisations for candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) of the society

GMCH Chandigarh conducts GMCH Combined Entrance Test (GCET) to shortlist applicants for BSc admission. The seats are allocated through the subsequent counselling process based on the GCET ranks of applicants. However, to be eligible for the conuselling rounds, applicants are required to score the minimum qualifying marks in the GCET, which are as follows:

• General/General PwD category: 45% or more
• SC/SC PwD category: 40% or more

GCET is the entrance test conducted by GMCH Chandigarh to shortlist applicants for BSc admission. The exam consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The syllabus for the exam may vary across the specialisations. The medium of GCET is English only. Each question carries one mark and there is no negative marking for wrong answers. The duration of the entrance test is two hours. Interested candidates can apply for the exam through the college's official website as and when the application window opens.

The entrance exam for GMCH Chandigarh MBBS admission is NEET UG. As of now, the NTA has not released the exam schedule and application dates for NEET UG 2025. The NEET 2025 registration process will tentatively begin in the first week of March 2025. The registration window will remain open till the first week of April 2025 (tentative). The exam is expected to be conducted in the first week of May 2025.
