The cutoff trend for BTech at GMIT - GM Institute of Technology has been increasing in the recent years. In 2022, the closing rank for BTech. under general category for all India quota was 40759. In 2023, it increased to 75825. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 40759 to 75825 for OBC 40759 to 75825 for SC 40759 to 75825 for ST 40759 to 75825 for EWS 40759 to 75825 for PWD. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

GM Institute of Technology approved is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Moreover, the institute is also affilaited with  Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi with the Karnataka State Government approval. Additionally, the institute is also accredited by NAAC with B+ grade. For some of the courses, GMIT is also accredited by NBA.
