Minimum JEE Main 2021 marks to qualify for JEE Advanced

Minimum marks in JEE Main 2022 to qualify for JEE Advanced will be announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) along with the second session result. The NTA will announce JEE Main second session result 2022 by the second week of August. Candidates can check below the previous year JEE Main cutoff which candidates need to have to qualify for JEE Advanced.

Candidates who score above the minimum marks or JEE Main 2022 cutoff will only be allowed to appear for the JEE Advanced. JEE Main is the screening test for JEE Advanced which is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering courses conducted by IITs. Since last year, the top 2.5 lakh candidates who qualify for JEE Main will be selected to appear for JEE Advanced 2022. It is important for every candidate to score certain marks or above the cutoff for JEE Advanced.

JEE Main 2022 Cutoff for JEE Advanced

Candidates can check below the minimum marks required for JEE Advanced as per the last year's cutoff. Cracking any entrance exam solely depends on an effective study plan and the amount of hard work done by a candidate. With a little time left, here is a quick look at how much students need to score to qualify for the JEE Advanced 2022. JEE Main minimum marks required to qualify for JEE Advanced is given below.

Category JEE Main Cutoff 2021 (Percentile) by NTA
Common Rank List (CRL) 87.8992241
GEN-EWS 66.2214845
Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) 68.023447
Scheduled Caste (SC) 46.8825338
Scheduled Tribe (ST) 34.6728999
PwD 0.0096

The top 2.5 lakh candidates who qualify for the JEE Advanced would comprise students from unreserved as well as reserved categories. The exam conducting authority will publish the raw score obtained by a candidate in JEE Main as well as the corresponding percentile score. The cut off for JEE Advanced would be based on the percentile score. Candidates can check the expected cut off percentile and score required to qualify for the JEE Advanced in the table above.

It is expected that the entrance test will be conducted online at 525 Centres for BTech/BE, 480+ centres for BArch and in around 225 cities for BPlanning across the country. The exam acts as a gateway for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) – India’s most premier engineering students.

NTA releases the JEE Main 2022 admit card on the official website for eligible candidates only. To download their JEE mains exam admit card, candidates must enter JEE Main login details like their application number and date of birth on the official website. The exam conducting authority is expected to release the official JEE Main 2022 answer key within 3 days post conclusion of the exam.

Students and parents should note that the expected cut off provided above is based on the cut off for 2020 and previous years. The exact cut off for 2022 may vary. However, depending on the number of students who appear and the general trends observed over the years, the expected cut off score remains the same with a variance range of about 5 marks either way.

The percentile of a candidate is the basis for calculating the JEE Main score. As candidates appear for the exam in different shifts of different days, the percentile scores of the students are normalized and calculated as per the formula available on the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in. The exam conducting authorities will release the cut off for JEE Main only after the commencement of the JEE Man 2022 July exam along with the JEE Main 2022 ranks and final results.

Okay. Ranking in JEE Mains depends on the percentile that one secures in the examination. In addition National testing agency selects best out of the two performances of a student to determine his or her percentile. This is calculated up to the 7th decimal place. Once both the sessions of examinations are over NTA will declare the results of JEE Mains and devil also announce simultaneously the percentile and the ranking which students have obtained in this examination. No one else can determine the percentile since the data required is available only and only with NTA. Suggest that have a patience of few days and you will come to know from the official website of this agency about your results. Best wishes to you.
