Most of the students get placed in TCS or other IT companies, but there are no core companies except very few.

Excellent faculty, poor infrastructure, no events, fests, and extra activities. Average placement.
Placements: We have a very average placement. The packages range from 4 to 9 LPA, usually. Most are around 4-5 LPA. Not the best, as it feels low considering the efforts students put in. The main role that is hired is an associate engineer. Most companies look for good programming skills and communication.
Infrastructure: Very poor infrastructure. The college is smaller than a school. They only have a ladies' hostel. No means hostel, and there won't be one as there is no more area to expand. Labs have old computers that are difficult to work with, as they are really slow. It is a very small college, so there is not much space for anything. No playground, too.
Faculty: Teachers are the best. Everyone is really helpful and knows their domain really well. Teachers are really friendly and really care about students. The course curriculum is trash, as in the first two semesters, students from every branch have to learn the same thing, whether it's relevant or not. And the syllabus is also very outdated. No real application-level skills are taught.
Other: The course is average. But still couldn't be really better and useful. The only good thing about the course is that the core subjects are relevant. I wish that the syllabus would be updated to the new technology. No events, no fest, very poor campus crowd. Very small campus, so no place for any activities.

True Beauty of GEC Barton Hill.
Placements: In the academic year 2023-2024, we were able to bring 69 companies to our campus, which is significantly greater than previous years. This includes public sector companies like Bharat Electronics LTD (BEL), which came to our campus for the first time. The highest package for B.Tech students was offered by BEL (11.6 LPA) and for M.Tech students, it was offered by Federal Bank (12 LPA). The number of students placed was 132. There were students who got multiple job offers (up to 6). The average LPA offered by companies was about 4.5 LPA. Tata Elxsi was the largest recruiter, with 44 students placed.
Infrastructure: We have labs for various purposes and digital classrooms with projectors in each and every class. The college provides free Wi-Fi to students and also allocates space for various class activities. There are many technical and non-technical clubs and societies in the college.
Faculty: The teachers and other faculty members are really supportive of anything you want to do in the college, whether it may be technical or non-technical, especially the IT department faculty. If we consider pass percentage, our IT department has the highest pass percentage in KTU.
Other: Since Information Technology is a field of rapid development, I decided to take the first step in exploring it, which led me to the best college that offers IT in Kerala under KTU.

College facilities and management.
Placements: Students can enroll themselves for placements starting from the 4th year. Companies that come for placements are mainly in the IT field. Placements for civil and mechanical are less than other departments. The percentage of students getting placed is less than 50%.
Infrastructure: The whole college does not have a ground for students. Construction work in undergoing, leading to a lot of dust around the area. There is no boys' hostel. Classrooms are spacious and have good facilities. Better canteen facility can be provided.
Faculty: We have effecient teachers and well-qualified faculty. Labs are clean and all safety measures are taken while conducting experiments. Pass percentage for semester exams is around 67%-75%. Bad quality in evaluating semester exams and evaluation is not done properly.
Other: The college crowd is so good. There are so many events happening. Societies are very active.

A good government college that is well accessible and in the heart of the city.
Placements: Most of the placements were either for software companies as assistant engineers or as marketing and sales executives, but core companies like Visteon, BEL, and Tata Elxsi had also come. Also edutech and banking companies came for campus placements.
Infrastructure: I was a day scholar. So I don't know about hostels. But there's college Wi-Fi, a technical library, a canteen, and also a store to get general-purpose items and snacks/tea/coffee/drinks. Labs are okay. Classrooms are good, with few classrooms having TVs. A seminar hall is also there.
Faculty: Most of the faculty were really helpful and completed the entire syllabus; if they couldn't, it was because of the shorter duration of semesters in academic calendars beyond their control. The curriculum is almost relevant, and semester exams are moderate to easy most of the time.
Other: Technical societies like IEEE, CSI, ASME, and ISTE are really active, even at regional and global levels. Many project opportunities with well-established organizations also present from time to time.

A small college but a good one
Placements: Around 70 percent of the students are getting placed. But the thing is, LPA is very low. 7 LPA (Lacs Per Annum) was the highest package offered for the information technology branch this year and in the whole college too, and it was offered by CARESTACK. The average package offered by the company is up to 4.5 LPA. Companies like UST, Tata ELXSI, TCS, Speridean Technologies, SADA, Qburst, Infosys, and Federal Bank have come. Internships are not offered by the college; we have found them on our own in those same companies I mentioned above, and we can apply for any MNC or work under the Kerala Startup Mission.
Infrastructure: Every batch of students has their own classroom with a television and projector; the classrooms are good. Campus Wi-Fi is provided to every student after they have given the request for accessing Wi-Fi. Lab subjects will be done in the specific labs, and there are around 75 systems in each lab that can accommodate the entire class. 75 is the intake of students in each batch of the department every year. There is a department library in the building near the network security lab and a college library where there are plenty of books available. The study area in the library is open until 9:30 p.m. and closes on Sunday. The hostel is not fancy, but it is not too bad. There are four-person rooms, a dormitory, and dormitory and also a study hall. There are two study lockers in each room and different cupboards for everyone in the room. Mess food is literally a bad one. Sometimes we get worms from sambar, so usually I don't eat it. And some day we have a festival, and it's good. Overall, the food will be rated 5/10. There is a small gym inside the hostel. The hospital is just 5 minutes away from college. Currently, there is a tug-of-war team and badminton team operation in the hostel, and their requirements are met.
Faculty: The teachers in the IT department are so helpful and polite, and all of them are qualified professors and three guest lecturers. Some of the teachers are well-trained to guide us in the right direction, and some of them are just going through the syllabus. The curriculum or syllabus is good, but it is so far from the real world. We can do internships to make a bridge. The semester exams are handled by the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. We have to get 40 out of 100 to pass the exam, but the internal marks are also very important, and they are out of 50. The exam level is moderate to tough. Read text to perform better in exams.
Other: I love to create changes in the world. And I think engineering is a better option to do that. This is a college where you get many platforms to show off your skills and grow up. Technical Fest: Aagneya Cultural Fest: Sargam Scholarships: any offered by the government of India and also state scholarships.

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2025
4.4
4Placements3Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
One of the top five engineering college in Kerala.
Placements: I am from mechanical engineering branch. In mechanical engineering branch, most of the placement offers are from it related companies like ibs, etc. Around 90% of applied students get placement in various companies but number of placement offers from mechanical core company are low there will be an average package of around 3.6 Lacs per annum. Placement offers from Top companies includes SADA, FEDERAL BANK, TATA, IBS, MAHINDRA etc.
Infrastructure: The college is just 7 acres which is very small area as compared to other government college. But The college is situated on centre of the Kerala capital city 'TRIVANDRUM'. There is Wi-Fi connection throughout the college and hostel. There is various department labs and classroom and a good library 2 Ladies hostel are situated on college campus but there is not hostel for means.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, highly qualified, friendly and knowledgeable All teachers have minimum Ph.D. qualification The course curruculam is very relevant. The College Follows the rule and course curriculum of the Kerala technical Most of the years our college becomes first or second position in ktu colleges in pass percentage .
