Good faculty and facilities.
Placements: College offers good placements for IT students. Placement for core branches is hard to get. Placement cell of the college is trying to get core companies to participate. The highest package is 18 LPA and the lowest package is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Infosys, Wipro, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facilities are available, you have to apply for them at the IT department. Labs, classrooms, and library are moderate but have all the necessary facilities. Only girl's hostels are present. The quality of food is average at best. Sports and games are conducted and equipment is also available. Only a single game court is available.
Faculty: Course curriculum though constantly discussed is not employed with maximum effort. Various opportunities are available to make students industry-ready, thanks to different engineering societies present at the college. Semester exams are not that hard. Pass percentage is roughly 84%.

Review of Government Engineering College, Barton Hill.
Placements: Our college is a center of higher learning in engineering that nurtures inquisitive young minds, fosters innovative research, and reaches out to society, while incessantly improving itself. Almost 50% of students got placed in our batch. Around 40% of students got placed in this course. The minimum salary offered was Rs 20,000 per month. The maximum salary package offered was 2 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Google, Q Burst, Microsoft, TCS, Mahindra, Keltron, Infosys, etc. Almost 40-60% of students got internships in companies like Q Burst, Google, etc. The top roles offered are designing engineering, coding, etc.
Infrastructure: Free Wi-Fi is available. Bus services are also available. Classrooms are maintained properly. It also provides a decent library. Many laboratories are available. Playground is not available. Boys' hostels are also not available. Our college promotes sports and games. Medical facilities are provided. Canteen is available in this college.
Faculty: Teachers are well educated. They have good knowledge. They also help us to study well. Teachers always motivate us and they also share notes. The course curriculum also makes students ready for the industry. Semester exams will start on 25th February. The pass percentage is 70%. Faculty members are good, and they teach us very well.
Other: I opted for this course because of my interest in it. Our college has excellent results in this course. Many programs are organised. Events named Aagneya are conducted in this college. It is one of the top events, and the expense is Rs 95,00,000. Many scholarships are provided like E-grants, MCM, etc.

Students can study here with the best people in Kerala.
Placements: Almost everyone who doesn't have backlog gets placed each year. Students who get admission here are among the top in the state. You get a chance to study with the best people in Kerala.
Infrastructure: The college is placed in the capital of Kerala. There are two hostels for ladies out of which one is very recently built. There is no men's hostel on the campus. However, there are a lot of private hostels and apartments nearby which students can use for their accommodation. Facilities for studies are excellent.
Faculty: This college was under Kerala University when I was studying, and now it is under Kerala Technological University (KTU). The curriculum they follow now is better as I've heard from the new students. They follow a more practical approach to portions coveted. Faculty members are good.
Other: Aagneya is the annual techno-cultural fest of GECB, which is one of the best fests to attend in Kerala.

A small college with an amazing campus life .
Placements: The placement of this college is mainly from IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tata Elxsi, IBS etc. Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Nissan Digital has also visited the campus. There are some Electronics core companies also that visit the campus. There's an Advanced Diploma offered by our college partnered with Mercedes-Benz. The college also arranges soft skill development classes aimed at the Final years to enhance their performance in placements.
Infrastructure: The college is relatively young and hence the buildings are well-equipped. The older buildings are being replaced by newer ones. The labs are very well-equipped in accordance to the curriculum. There are two ladies hostels but None for the gents. The food in the mess is fine I presume. The canteen in our college is clean and the food quality is good. Being a small campus there's very little sports facility. There's no ground. The library has most of the required reference books and it's easy to borrow books. There's a reading room available with many newspaper subscriptions available. The campus Wi-Fi is one of the fastest in Trivandrum.
Faculty: The faculty appointed by the Government of Kerala is very well qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality depends on each teacher which keeps changing. Overall quality of the faculty is fine. The curriculum set by KTU isn't very relevant to be honest which is true for all universities across India. The quality of curriculum needs an uplift all over India. Comparing it with other colleges in the same university I would suggest this is a very good college in terms of the quality of education. Although it is best if you can self learn.
Other: Situated in the midst of the city on a hill surrounded with tress, this is one of the best Government colleges in Kerala. This small college has an advantage of networking. Due to the lesser number of students, we get to know each other from all branches and years. The campus is very much alive with activities round the year. The main event is the college fest Aagneya. It is one of the best in Trivandrum. Apart from the three-day main event there are lots of other activities as part of Aagneya which happen all year and can be helpful in developing your technical, artistic and managerial skills. There's an intra college Arts and sport fest held annually. Even with little facilities and no grounds, the various sports teams have excelled in District and State level events. Things I would like to be improved is that I would like to SEE a gents hostel and better sport facilities in our college.

Review of Government Engineering College, Barton Hill.
Placements: Though most of the students from our batch got placed, none of them got a salary package above the lowest salary package of 3 LPA to 3.6 LPA. Companies which visited here were all software firms, and mechanical and electrical companies didn't visit. The worst thing is the placement cell justifies this by informing that certain software firms deal with IoT and hence can be considered as core electronics placements. But as an EEE student, none of the core firms visited for placements. Our college didn't even collaborate with other colleges for placements in core companies. Only pool placements are conducted with other colleges, and they all are conducted in software firms.
Infrastructure: The ladies hostel is one of the most affordable hostels. Considering most of the students who belong to economically weak background, it was a good thing. However, as per society, men can adjust anywhere, while females need safe spaces. There are no men's hostels here. The second hostel which constructed was also made into a female hostel. So girls have 2 hostels there, while boys don't have any hostel. The campus Wi-Fi is ultra-fast, but the teachers make it like it's a ration, and hence it is usable only after college hours. The canteen was fine, and there are very few food options, but they are affordable. Facilities are nice. The entire college is constricted to 6 acres and has individual blocks for labs of different departments.
Faculty: There were pretty decent course curriculum, labs and classroom facilities. It's the only field in which our college has some strengths. It is a great place for academics. Teachers are well educated, and they are very supportive also.
Other: Our college organises a lot of other activities like annual fest named Aagneya, arts fest named Sargam, etc. Many technical societies work on the campus with great vision, but our college lacks non-academic activities. Even there are some limitations like our college produces university champion cricket team for consecutive years, it doesn't have any playground facility. So, for that, we use the distant facilities offered by Kerala University stadiums.

Students get the best industry exposure at this college.
Placements: Placements in our college were good. All students got placed through the campus placements with an average salary package of 3 lacs per annum. Companies like Tata Consultancy Services, QBurst, Infosys, Mu Sigma, etc., visited our college and hired students. There was a dedicated placement cell in our college, and faculty members in it made sure that all students got placed through campus placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities of our college were good. Our college has the best labs and equipment that help us get maximum knowledge. Easily accessible amenities centre and activity room were available in our college. There was a spacious outdoor stage for organising college events. There was a spacious library with many volumes of reference books and journals.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college were well-qualified and experienced. They ensure that all students get the maximum knowledge out of the curriculum. Faculty to student ratio was 1:50. We got great industry exposure and practical knowledge through industrial visits and in-plant training.

Wonderful college to study in.
Placements: In the last 3 years in which I know the college, the college has produced IAS toppers, many university rank holders in each respective departments and high rate of campus placements. 90% of the students were placed with even multiple job offers. Major companies include Wipro, TCS, Mu Sigma, Benz, Microsoft to name a few. Majority of the students got internships via respective exams conducted at the college and there is an efficient placement cell present which gives proper guidance on career moulding.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi present available to the teachers as well as students. Classrooms are in excellent condition complete with projectors and mic system for the staff. Library labs and medical facilities are top notch with equipments complete to the students need. Sports are a bit reduced due to absence of a ground but the university stadium is made available for events. 2 girls hostels are present within the campus itself but only private boys hostels are present nearby. Personally felt the college infrastructure was everything a student required.
Faculty: The teachers are the main integral part of the college they are well qualified even above the usual standards. They provide great support to the students and are always there for the students. Teaching quality is top notch with teaching methods which involve the students attention. 75%attendance has been made mandatory almost 20 well qualified faculty members are there in each branch complete with a class faculty for each class. Industry exposure is present in form of different events as well as in the form of industrial visits.
Other: All Kerala events are conducted at the college and the college fest Aagneya is conducted in Grand manner complete with multiple proshows. The college is situated in the centre of the city with amenities all around. Scholarship is provided to meritorious as well as financially backward students. The college also boasts a infamous IEEE, ISTE branches.

A college to shape the engineer in you.
Placements: The placements happened mainly in the IT sector with only a handful of people getting placed in core companies. The main companies visiting the campus were Mercedez Benz, Zia Semiconductors, Envesnet, TCS, etc. Benz and Zia offered the highest package in core sector while Envesnet had the maximum package in IT sector. The highest package was 12 lakhs pa in core and 5 lakhs pa in IT sector.
Infrastructure: The college has an average infrastructure facility, being a young college (just 18 years old). There are still development activities going on in the campus, like improving lab facilities, etc. The library is good with mainly technical books. The campus has free Wi-Fi. The college has only ladies' hostel and lacks a men's hostel. The canteen is average and provides food at cheap rates.
Faculty: Being a government college, the faculty is experienced and knowledgeable with a helping mentality. Conventional teaching methods are adopted. Research is encouraged and the college also boasts of a technological business incubator. My department had 8 permanent professors and nearly 5 guest lecturers with the department having a student strength of 280. The curriculum was useful.
