Satisfactory learning in this college as it provides good learning facilities.
Placements: About 25% of students were placed from our branch. Even though a university rank holder studied in our college in Electronics and Communication, which is a great achievement. The highest package from our college during 2021-2022 was 4.6 lakhs CTC, and the lowest package was 2 lakhs per annum. The recruiting company that selected more students from our branch compared to other companies during 2022-23 was Coromandel Electronics, Computer Science - Algomox, Information Technology - 6D Technology, and Mechanical - ZF. Also, Mitsogo, Quest, IBS Software, Experion, IBM, etc. GECI provides necessary internship opportunities from different companies. GECI provides different opportunities for the students, making them involved in various study-related programs outside the college.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are good, providing a good learning ambience. Projectors are available. There are labs for practical-related subjects. The Chemistry lab is not highly appreciated but has things that can be used to do some essential experiments. However, electrical, electronics, and computer labs are well-appreciated, providing very good internet facilities, and enough equipment and instruments to do all of our experiments, as these are the labs that engineering students handle more. We have a satisfactory central library and department libraries. Food available in the hostel mess is better than in canteens.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. Most of the teachers are dedicated enough to teach and clarify students' doubts, even during non-class times. They take good steps to elevate students by hearing their suggestions. They suggest books for the students for their studies. Dedicated students can achieve their goals easily with their guidance.
Other: I selected the ECE branch as it is a growing branch that can offer good job opportunities for the future. A student studying in this college will achieve a better variety of college life than any other college, as it is situated in the glimpse of nature, Idukki. The college provides a very good learning ambience to the students by enjoying the various diverse beauty of nature, unlike city center colleges. This is an eco-friendly college in Kerala. Students studying here are dedicated to preserving nature. There are more active clubs here that guide the newly admitted ones to achieve their dreams.

Overall, it is a good college and we can adjust it.
Placements: Placements in our college are low compared to other colleges, but it is improving. Compared to our seniors, a few number of students got placement in our course. Semesters have not ended so there are more possibilities for more students to get placement. Our placement cell is now very active and they are providing so many opportunities and training to the students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and buildings are good. The college has a nice scenic view because of the location. The climate is also attractive and the burden of hot temperatures is less. College is active in sports. We have a very good team in games like football, volleyball, basketball, handball, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are very much qualified. Their teaching and other qualities vary by different departments. The pass percentage is low sometimes. However, we cannot blame our college for that because the university which we studying is KTU is not that good.

Review of Government Engineering College, Idukki.
Placements: Almost 30% of students are placed. Most of the students are placed in the computer science department. The top recruiting companies are Qburst and Infosys. The role offered is a trainee, and some are taken as the marketing team for Byjus.
Infrastructure: Classrooms, laboratories, and library are good. The Wi-Fi facility is not available right now. Hostel quality is average, and sports are not good. Medical facilities are very hard to access. The medical health center is 5 KM away from our college.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Our course curriculum is not relevant, and it does not make students industry-ready. Semester exams are medium level. The pass percentage is 40%. The teaching quality is good. Faculty members are appointed by the government.
Other: I got this college by KEAM. Our campus crowd is average, and events are less. The surroundings are calm and friendly. This college is located in the woods of Idukki.

I'm satisfied because of the infrastructure, good faculties, decent placements and good environment.
Placements: About 20% of the students get placed in our course. The highest salary offered was Rs. 30,000 per month and the lowest salary offered was Rs. 15,000 per month. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, BHEL, TATA, etc. Almost 20% of students got internships in TCS and Infosys companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. Labs have highly precise equipment. Classrooms are well maintained and are neat. There are many collections of books in our library. Good and friendly staff is available. Even we can access Wi-Fi. Good and healthy food is served in the hostel and the cost is also reasonable. We conduct many sports and arts events, interesting game events, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified and friendly. Teaching quality is good and easily understandable. The course curriculum is highly helpful and easy to understand. These are the updated curriculum. It gives knowledge about what we are trying to study and increases practical knowledge.
Other: I opted for the course because I like electronics. I am crazy about the latest mobile technology. I want to improve the technologies that are now available. The college should provide more practical knowledge and experience. We have conducted many games in our multi fest and its quite interesting.

Satisfied with my college. Good placements.
Placements: About 35 percent of students from my course got placed in different companies during placements. The salary package given to students the highest package was about 35,000 per month and the lowest salary was about 20000 per month. Many top companies like TCS, Wipro, 6D technologies where there are the placements. Every company recruited students on to the software side. Actually companies doesn't come to our college instead of the college management takes the students to different colleges to make them attend their interviews.
Infrastructure: Speaking about the infrastructure of a department it is a good building with every facilities such as labs, libraries etc. The labs are well-equipped with every machine and every equipments needed for the students to get a basic knowledge about the courses they are studying. Each department contains its own department library with good amount of books and study materials. The hostel is a good spacious building. The food given at the mess and hostel is a good quality clean and tasty. Colleges a good canteen that only costs you small bills for food every facilities such as sports games and medical facilities are available at our college.
Faculty: The teachers in our college are well qualified. Specific teachers are assigned for specific subjects they are skilled on. The quality of the teaching college is good. The curriculum is relevant it gives us the basic knowledge about the electronic industry.
Other: I took this course because of the interest on electronics. This course helps us to gain knowledge about the electronics. More practicals should be given at lab so it gives us more better knowledge about electronics. Events fests and extracurricular activities are provided by the college for giving us technological ideas. Scholarships are given to every students. The campus surroundings are ambient for students to study the climate in that area is good.

An above-average college with an ambient atmosphere and pretty good infrastructure.
Placements: A proper career guidance and placement cell is functioning in the college in order to mentor the students in achieving their dream job. The percentage of students getting placed is increasing each year. About 40–45% of the students of the last batch got placed in on-campus placements, and a lot of others got placed in off-campus interviews. MNCs and other reputed companies like Ashok Leyland, QBurst, TCS, Larsen and Toubro, etc. regularly appoint students from the college with reasonable packages.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of the college are pretty good. They've got adequate features and facilities like Wi-Fi in all departments, a canteen, a rich library, and laboratories with new equipment. The hostels are available, which are enough to accommodate all girls, but there are uncertainties in the case of boy's hostels. The college does not own any of the present boys hostels, which are taken on a contract basis from other government departments. The mess is pretty good, and quality food is served. The maintenance of girls hostels is done accordingly, but not for boys hostels, as they are not owned by the college. I would recommend that boys stay at private hostels, which are plentiful in the nearby areas if you consider cleanliness. Sports and games are average here, but gradually an interest has been taken by the college authorities to enhance sports and games. A basketball court and volley ball court are inside the college, along with provisions for games such as table tennis. Annual sports and games are conducted every year. The college was NBA accredited recently, for the next 4 years. A proper transport facility is available in the college for transporting students, even into hostels in remote areas.
Faculty: The faculties are highly qualified professionals with many years of teaching experience at various government colleges. They make the classes interactive. Even though the course curriculum is somewhat irrelevant, the faculties take active responsibility for preparing students on an industry-based level with application knowledge of the theory subject. Skill enhancement clubs and organizations are present in the college to provide students with additional knowledge for the course and introduce them to high-end technological advancements. These organizations work under the supervision of reputed faculties of the college itself as nodal officers. The exams are conducted by the college, which has no role in determining the difficulty of the exam; however, faculties prepare students to perform their best for the exams.
Other: The Tech-Fest of the college, 'ADVAYA, is a renowned multi-national technical fest, as is the art festival, 'KAVETTAM'. One aspect of the college is its geography. It is located amidst the breathtaking beauty of Idukki District. A lot of tourist attractions are right near the college. So a peaceful atmosphere is maintained at the college. Active student politics are there at the college in order to stand up for the students. Other technical clubs also function at the college.

It is a good place for those who want to study. They can have fun and can learn at the same time.
Placements: About 25% of the students from our course got placed. The highest salary package offered is 80 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 1 LPA. The average salary package offered is 3 LPA. Wipro, Infosys and TCS are the top recruiters for our course. The top role offered in our course is an electronics engineer. About 40% of the students from our course got placed, and BHEL, Keltron and many electronics-based companies offer internships.
Infrastructure: It is a government engineering college. Our college provides free Wi-Fi facility, but we didn't get for our mobile phones. However, if we have laptops, we can access Wi-Fi in classrooms. Lab attendants are always ready to conduct classes at any time we want. Hostels are fair to stay, and the food served is good to eat but not best. But the food served in the canteen is a little expensive compared to other colleges.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly qualified because most of them are permanent staff members who are graduated from top colleges in India. They also got a PhD and have a minimum of M.Tech degree in their fields. The course curriculum is good. I think students need more practical knowledge than theory to help them to get ready more for the industry.
Other: When I was young, I was keenly interested in electronics, so I chose this course. The best thing about electronics is it always changes with time. I wish that our college should conduct more practical sessions. IEEE is a good organisation for students to get developed and to make good connections with others. Doing internships in other colleges also will make you more confident.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the Government Engineering College, Idukki but events are okay.
Placements: Placements in my college are totally average with only a 10/60 from each branch getting placed but the placement and career development cell is getting improved and we can hope the placement will get good in the coming years. Only small companies are coming now for the placement we can hope good companies come.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are quite average. The hostel is also average. The food is good on some days. There is no ground in the college.
Faculty: Teaching quality is very bad. There are only some experienced teachers other teachers are just teaching. We cannot understand some teachers but they do not teach for another time. Some teachers don't even come to class. We have 2 series in one semester, lab exams, end semester exams, and viva. The faculty members are very bad in EC. The first-year Maths teacher never came to class, only 1 or 2 times he came to class and not all teachers are supportive. They motivate us.
Other: There are some events not too many but events are okay. The hostel timings are also 9:00 PM. After 9:00 PM, the hostel closes. There are a lot of scholarships in college which is good for the budget.
