Government engineering college idukki.

Placements: About 20% of the students get placed in our course. The highest salary offered was Rs. 30,000 per month and the lowest salary offered was Rs. 15,000 per month. Companies like TCS, Infosys are companies which come for the placement. Total of 65 jobs were offered by tier 1 companies like TCS, Infosys Wipro etc. To a maximum salary package of 4.2 lacs CTC for the students of GEC Idukki.

Infrastructure: Our college provides various facilities to the students and staff members. GEC Idukki facilities include separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls Library operations are computerised using SOUL software. GEC Idukki facilities include a canteen that serves delicious and hygienic food at reasonable prices. The Co-operative Society, which is located on the college campus, provides for students' daily needs such as stationery and textbooks. Auditorium, Wi-Fi, IT infrastructure, transport facility, internet facility and laboratories are some other GEC Idukki facilities.

Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified and friendly. Teaching quality is good and easily understandable. The course curriculum is highly helpful and easy to understand. To pass any theory or practical, candidate must obtain 18.1 minimum 35% marks in each theory paper. Minimum 50% marks in each practical marks.

Other: Freshers day, arts, sports, tech fest, women's day, Holi festival, Onam celebrations are done. College is very active in case of colouful events. All the students are so co-operative and gets the events success.

I am highly satisfied with this college.

Placements: From the pass out batch, around 70% of the students got placed in a variety of companies. Mainly core branches students got placed. The highest salary package offered is 13 LPA. Internships are very rare in this college because of the remote area. The academics activities are better here.

Infrastructure: The department of information technology has much better labs and facilities including Wi-Fi, better classrooms and supportive teachers. The college is spread over 20 acres of land near to the Idukki Dam. The hostel facility is average, and we can survive. Food is served unlimited for all time.

Faculty: In our department, there are more than 10 permanent teachers. They all are well educated from high-level institutions like IIT and NIT. There are 4 PhD holders from IIT, NIT and also from MIT. In the era of technology, the course curriculum is relevant in society and for the career.

Other: I have chosen this course because I need a job after I complete the course. I think by choosing this course, I can achieve my dream. The college organises the technical event named Advaya.
