Nice memorable college.
Placements: Civil engineering has few placement options because it is more relevant in the government field, but the college still provides good placement opportunities. Even students with supplies are considered for these placements. This college is really in front for placements.
Faculty: The faculty members are so qualified, and they are really pleasant with us. They are well-trained professionals, and they know the correct syllabus. The teachers are really friendly with us students, and they really support us through everything. It is actually quite simple compared to other courses. B.Tech is tough, but I feel like civil engineering is quite easy to pass the examinations. Of course, KTU published our question paper, so yes, that is one problem. They only publish the date of the examination just before.
Other: I love this college because the education system is, of course, good, but the festivals there are amazing. This college gives us an amazing nightlife.

Great college for core branches and students who are really passionate about engineering.
Placements: About 80% of the students are being placed at either core or non-core companies. A great percentage of core placements are reported, and it is one of the highest in Kerala. Core companies like JSW, MRF, Ashok Leyland, and Annora instrumentation have given placements, and the average is above 6LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is fair. Not excellent, but it has adequate facilities like Wi-Fi in college and hostel. Library facilities, and well-equipped labs are available for all courses. New hostels are being built to accommodate more students, and gradually, the infrastructure is also being developed.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified enough, and they have completed their studies from premier institutes of the country. Faculty members of our department are very friendly and are always available for help. They provide us space and time for non-academic activities and projects.
Other: If you are focusing on the KEAM exam, GEC Thrissur is one of the top colleges under the Kerala government. It has a huge alumni network, which helps us gain a lot of opportunities.

My review on GEC Thrissur.
Placements: Talking about placement percentage, it's like 75 percent when it comes to my course, and the highest package for my course is 32 LPA as per now, with an average of 4 LPA. Companies like MRF, Reliance, Saint Gobain, TCS, Infosys, Wipro recruit from my college.
Infrastructure: I'm a first-year student here, and I can share what I know about my college. The infrastructure is pretty good. The campus is 75 acres, though much of it is left unused. We have decent classrooms and a library, and the Wi-Fi is also good. Hostel facilities and food quality are satisfactory. We get decent facilities for 3k, so I'd say it's one of the best colleges you'll see in Kerala.
Faculty: The teachers are really helpful and we're following KTU curriculum. I'll say it's good but exam results sometimes come late. When we're talking about the difficulty of the semester exams, as a first year student, it's pretty doable. I mean everything is doable, but this is not that hard. About the pass percentage, it's like 80-90 percent.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to do something like this and here, GEC Thrissur is one of the best colleges in Kerala for Mechanical Engineering. Our college celebrates almost every kind fests and events, so events happen here frequently and the crowd is a vibe too.

Pros and cons of the Government Engineering College, Thrissur.
Placements: Talking about the placement scenario in our civil department is lower compared to the other branches, like computer science and mechanical. The top recruiting companies are the Land T, Shobha Construction, and MRF, which visit the campus for placements. The package is offered at around 32 LPA, while the average packages range from 4 LPA to 6 LPA. On average, around 20% of civil students got placed, looking at the overall college placement of 60%-77%. The college's active placement cell and good industrial connections help students to get secure job offers. Site engineer, project manager, and structural engineers are some of the top positions.
Infrastructure: Even though the civil department is the oldest, it still boasts a well-equipped infrastructure to support academic pursuits. It comes with well-maintained labs like the CAD lab, environmental engineering lab, material testing lab, survey lab, and hydro informatics lab. The college library is also well equipped with vast collections of books, journals, and online resources. Talking about the college hostel facilities, it's laid with a clean and secure nature connected. Let me make one thing clear, college hostel admissions are based on the income and distance criteria, so what I meant is that it has limited seats. Others have to look for private hostels.
Faculty: We have well-qualified and helpful teachers. Most of the faculty are nice and approachable, talking about the curriculum, we follow the APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (KTU), which comes with a whole package of theory plus practical lab sessions along with other specialized subjects too. Semester exams aren't that tough, everyone could pass average, if u learn. Students have been reporting to update the curriculum to a more job-oriented way rather than just mugging up on theory texts
Other: The best thing about civil is its hands-on learning and diverse applications encompassing various fields like structural, transportation, environmental, etc. I think a regular update on curriculum, focusing more on job-oriented studies and fostering strong industry partnerships to provide more internships and job opportunities, could improve a lot.

Really good infrastructure, faculty members are good, and placement is also good.
Placements: Average package is around 5 LPA - 12 LPA. The highest package is 12 LPA - 25 LPA in civil department at GECT. Recruiters include L&T, Shobha Builders, etc. 30-50% of students receive offers. Mechanical students from GECT report more than 40 placement offers from core firms.
Infrastructure: In civil department, well-equipped labs, spacious classrooms for 70-80 students. It has a seperate department library and Wi-Fi. The campus spans 75 acres of land. Gym, digital classroom, hostels, canteen, gym, and sports facilities are available. Hostel rooms and canteen should be improved.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified and well-experienced, with many from NIT/IIT. Faculty members are student-friendly and very supportive. In civil department, faculty members are strict and well-experienced. The curriculum is revamped to bridge the academic-industry gap.
Other: The department hosts funded projects, and M.Tech work has earned awards such as best project by ultratach/lCI. Campus is vibrant and ragging-free campus. Active clubs, tech fests, workshops, and healthy student politics are conducted.

It is a very affordable & good engineering college.
Placements: Around 80% of students got placed in our course. The highest package offered in our course is 32 LPA. The average package is around 6-7 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Construction, etc. Around 60% of students also got internship offers.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for our course were honestly decent. It has a very historic hostel and campus. Labs have all the required instruments and machinery for practical work. A library was also available. A sports ground was also present. Hostels have all the essential facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable in their respective domains. The teaching quality depends on the professor; some professors teach us in a very interesting manner. The course curriculum was relevant. Students were trained for industry jobs. Semester exams were moderate.
