CGPA stands for Cumulative Grade Point Average. Generally in college after the examination of each semester you will get an online marksheet, on that marksheet each subject has some credit points. After each semester you will get an SGPA written on your marksheet. So by taking weight average of all the grades (SGPA) obtained by the student in all the semesters / years of academic programme. Then you will get CGPA and multiplying CGPA with 9.5 will give equivalent percentage. E. g. Step 1: In First year-7.5, second year-8.0, third year-7.54
Average = (7.5+8.0+7.54)/3= 7.68 = CGPA
Step 2 : 7.68*9.5 = 72.96%. .
Average = (7.5+8.0+7.54)/3= 7.68 = CGPA
Step 2 : 7.68*9.5 = 72.96%. .

Hindu College is located in North Campus and there are various hostels and PGs nearby. Hindu college itself has hostel facility for which you have to apply during admission and there will be a merit list of students whosoever will be alloted, and DU itself has hostels like Rajiv Gandhi girls hostel etc. For which you can apply but to be very honest these hostels are alloted on the basis of marks and are limited in number but you need not to worry as there are many PGs available near the college in Vijay Nagar, Kamla Nagar. The PGs are well built and fully-furnished and there are various options according to your budget, these PGs are even at walking distance from the college. Nivedita hostel/PG in North Campus for girls, RENT-14,000/-, AC rooms available. Aparna Girls PG in Roop Nagar, RENT-8000/-, AC rooms, WI-fi, TV etc. And there are lot of others as well.

The most important tip for students taking admission in the first year to Hindu College must be Self-Confidence. One should always be confident. From school to college the gap is way too large and all the students have some kind of hesitation, shyness, or introversion, which is very common. But you should never lose hope, it'll take time to make friends and to settle into a completely new environment but with time you will adapt and have some great friends. Secondly, try to participate and join cultural societies in the first year according to your interest so that you can have exposure to competitions and you'll definitely learn a lot.
